My Ford Pass app says recommended cold pressure is 35 front / 35 rear. Owned it for a week and tire monitoring says all are high. Go look at the tires and they state maximum pressure is 51 psi.

What are you guys running or what are we suppose to be running? Stock XLT tires

Tire manufacturers rate the tire based on its design and nothing else.

Vehicle manufacturers rate their finished vehicles based on the proper mix of support and comfort.

Only the latter takes into consideration the vehicle that is actually rolling down the street. Thus that's what matters to the driver.

Mine where high due to transport, dealer did no real prep before I picked it up ( no wash etc.) they where moving make ready that day and were not ready to … make ready.
Took 7 months to drop into normal. Now setting at 30psi 11 months after purchase. No real change in mpg and like the softer ride.

Are you guys using the in truck monitor or an external pressure tester? I find the in truck one to be off from every tester I've used. From the old analog stick type, digital meter, to my 12v air pump, they all show 4-5PSI more than the tire pressure sensors do. Kind of wonder what to trust. I don't test right after driving, only before so the tires are cold.

Just remember that tire pressure changes 1 psi for every 10 deg F change in temperature. The pressure will increase as you drive also.

Which is why the manufacturers of vehicles list recommendation for cold tire inflation levels.

Mine were over 40 when delivered. Had dealer lower them to 35. I have monitored them over the summer but had to add more air this fall due to cooler weather.

The best way to get the most accurate pressure is check them first thing in the morning after the vehicle has been sitting all night and before you drive anywhere. Then set them to the recommended pressure of 35 psi.

This feels sad to say, but I absolutely trust my 99 cent auto parts store tire pressure gauge more than whatever Ford pass app tells me.

Get yourself a quality analog gauge, and stop wondering....

I like Jaco personally.

Door shows they should be 35 PSI. I actually had to put air in them yesterday since it's been cold and they were around 31. I filled them to 38.

I kind of figured the trucks in dash monitor (I don't use Ford pass app) was out to lunch, since all my other gauges agreed on the higher PSI.
