I ordered 2 identical xl mavericks (full size spare, tow hitch only options. 1 is a hybrid 1 is a ecoboost. I wanted the hybrid but read on here that it might not get built so ordered the eco as a backup.
both ordered 9-15
Confirmed 9-20
Got a “scheduled” email on 11-3 with both scheduled 12-19
This is where it gets weird
12-3 the ecoboost got pushed back to 1-2-23
But the hybrid is in production as of 12-14
I’m happy but really surprised at this sequence.

They make what they can make when they can make them. Different plants also. Not too surprising.

Ya maybe just the engine.

I remember hearing EcoBoost and Ohio in the same sentence. Maybe that was it.

Remember hearing something like that as well. I think it was opening a second plant for ECO engines though. I think the hybrid 2.5l engines are built in Valencia Spain.

Valencia builds the 2.5L hybrid engine for Europe - has not been announced that these are exported outside Europe - as well as the 2.0L EcoBoost that does get exported to the North American market.

North American 2.5L hybrid engine production is in Chihuahua, Mexico.

Cleveland produces some but not all of the 2.0L EB used in NA.

There was a sticker on my window that stated my EB was manufactured in Spain.

Really not sure where the Cleveland 2.0L EcoBoost units go because everyone seems to get theirs from Valencia. :)

I thinks there will be a of people who ordered a Hybrid that won't be getting it because many people wanted it but I think it all depends on the allocation numbers your dealership had and also considering what options and trim level you ordered.

My dearship said to not expect my Maverick until mid 2023 but on the tracker website mine is saying it's built as of 12/16, just waiting for it to say in transit.

I ordered similar to you, an XL Hybrid with drop in bedliner and a hitch, so a pretty basic build. My thought is that since they already had the parts for my build and my dealership put me at priority 10, Ford wasn't going to hold off on building something they already had the parts for for someone who ordered maybe a higher trim Hybrid with options they didn't have parts for.

With that being said, I think the major things that will prevent people from getting a hybrid will be if you ordered a higher trim or one with a lot of options because they will have to wait for the parts they need to build those but also in thar same instance Ford isn't going to wait to build orders for hybrids if they already have the parts to build them. My bet is that we'll see a lot more XL and XLT 23 hybrids with no or very little options built over ones that are fully equipped or with a lot of tech.
Nah, it’s dependent on dealer allocations. Which sucks because know one knows and the dealer wont say

Weird!
So you're telling me that you read some conjecture from the All Knowing Maverick Truck Club Seers and it turned out be 100% wrong???
