I am in a similar boat. The longer the wait, the sooner more info will be out on the competitor that Toyota is building. I was at a Toyota dealership this past Sunday, and the sales guy told me that they are already having in-store meetings on it as a product. With the market for the Mav, I think dealerships would be happy to have a customer say they no longer want their order.

I was hoping they’re many cancellations,
And how many per month are feed up & are canceling
Too
Seems wrong for for open order bank for 2023’s for even 7 days
Perhaps 2 days to get orders with false hope, ect

Having read through all 14 pages of this my two cents-

1. Ford should absolutely offer the opportunity for 23 hybrid orders to switch to Eco-boost. They need to do something to move people to orders that they have capacity to produce.

2. Ford should have charged more for the hybrid than the Eco-boost. Maybe that is in the cards for 2024 model year. Perhaps even not offer it on the XL trim. If they have limited availability they might as well put those units into high dollar trucks.

3. Eco-boosts are going to be available on some dealer lots at MSRP by spring 2023, first as rejected orders and then as dealer stock orders with supply building into the summer.

Agree 100%...

4. The hitch should have been a $500 add on or at the very least $300

I don't understand how they can't manage to make the hitch or why they didn't just make it standard equipment on all the Mavericks. If it was a $500 option then yeah, I could see someone leaving it off if they planned to mostly use the truck as a commuter or just never towed. But at $100 you might as well add it.

I should add there are a lot more things Ford should have done too. The list could have been a lot longer....

Number 2 may end up being what ends up happening next year. On every other model, the hybrid option only exists on the top trim. Maybe for the Maverick, Ford needs to make it a Lariat Lux exclusive until they can get the parts in more consistently. It would still be the least expensive hybrid they offer.

If the data is correct then bodes well for me when I convert my 2022 barebones xlt hybrid and add back lux and cp360.

Not today. Not tomorrow. Someday, yes. I'm in the same boat. Replaced the brakes and put new tires on my Chevy truck so I'm good to wait for up to 2 years. Patience you must have.
Me too. my 99 E150 only has 88K miles on it, and should last another 10 years the way I drive it before it rusts away. My 2018 Mustang still has under 4,000 miles on it. It's just a little crazy to daily. The Maverick will be my calm efficient vehicle.

So if the hybrids are selected and built proportional to the available hitches, then there shouldn't be a hitch shortage in theory?

Ford needs:

Hybrid hitch qty 17,700 (27,230Ă—0.65)
EB hitch qty 16,183 (24,896Ă—0.65)

A total of 33,883 hitches needed for production and they allocated 35,010.

Perhaps EB select hitches at a higher percentage. Due to the very low EB orders, I would think they'll try to make them all and shuffle around hybrids with hitches since they have many to choose from. But who knows with Ford.

I switched from hybrid to EB this year in an attempt to get built, but will leave my hitch for now. If I still had my hybrid order, I might consider deleting it.
Your missing the add on option for the hitch... Tim said 65% of orders had the hitch which is 50,622 vs 35,010 allocated.

A 10 is pretty useless. It only gives priority over similar builds at that dealer.
That was the best explanations of the priority system I’ve heard. So its for the dealer, not for Ford production.

If Ford was making more money on the hybrids I think they would produce more. So raise the price or as others have said only offer it with the mid and top levels. Hybrid owners should save a bunch of money over the years of ownership.

Wouldn't it have been much easier for Ford to have designed a steel rear bumper with a hole in it for a ball like they used to? That way each one would have it if needed.
But then they can't charge you extra. Also bumpers are molded in now, not chrome plated railroad ties.

So, today I email my dealer and asked if I could change to the ECB engine since I was not scheduled yet. I was told no as Ford has Balanced out the 2023 Maverick orders. Any feed back.

That's where i get confused because Ford priced it at $110 which is basically nothing, who wouldn't add it?
I have it in the Lux package but don’t need it, or necessarily want it because being molded into the bumper, rather than below, it’s buck ugly.
My Mav will basically be a grocery hauler. I have a travel trailer that I haul with my Ram and there is not a chance the Mav has the capacity. I would have deleted the hitch if I could have, this would have been one more for someone else.

I'm down with the RR tie, better departure angle
