Who in the world would ever order a truck without a hitch? I mean even for this fake truck you at least need a place to install plastic figurines in there for truck customization. This should be standard and not an option even.

I would and am going to. I have on various occasions and can still add a receiver to a truck.

As far as potentially getting a timely build date, you're right.

But spending $1645 on the BAP I've determined isn't worth it. I can do everything except for the interior trim on my own much cheaper. I should be able to remove it according to Ford chat/marketing/guy/two other dealerships/a bunch of members on here...it's just my specific dealership claims they're not able to in their system for some reason.

Plus if I remove it that will help the '22 builds that want to add it when they convert to '23.

I hear everyone keep saying that. But I don’t know. Those wheels alone are half that.

I will say this tho, I am half way done with my “ghetto” BAP package on my 22.. lol hyper dipped wheels, side and hybrid badges. Ghetto black seat covers. Lol my tint guys will smoke out all my taillights and ford emblems for $270. So that’s next. All in all will cost me $500

Wouldn't it have been much easier for Ford to have designed a steel rear bumper with a hole in it for a ball like they used to? That way each one would have it if needed.

What i am having a hard time with is why they would only plan to have less than half (45%) of these trucks have hitches?

Also, at some point, Ford needs to communicate to the people who placed hybrid orders that they are not going to happen. Pretty poor business to just string these orders along. I have already placed an order for a RAV4 hybrid, because i have had enough.

This may be too far into the weeds, is there data on the number of XL hybrids to be built vs. the number ordered? Or should we assume a 50-50 shot for all hybrids, no matter the trim? (I'm searching for a ray of hope)

Unfortunately, what I posted in the OP is what was shared. They didn't break down the trims beyond the lux packages.

Yeah that's is already in my order. I have a 2023 on order which has the updated pricing already. I was quoted 6-9 months. which seems to be what they are saying it usually takes.

According to Tim this evening:

68% Hybrid orders compared to 35% capacity.
32% EB orders compared to 65% capacity.

Other than the hybrid, standalone tow hitch and splashguards seem to be the items over build capacity.

XLT Lux = 30% capacity but 25% orders.
Lariat Lux = 25% capacity but 20% orders.
Tremor = 8% capacity but 2% orders

Appearance packages are all under capacity constraints compared to orders:

BAP = 10% capacity but 8% orders.
TAP = 3% capacity but "hardly anyone ordered it"

CP360 = 60% capacity but 50% orders
CP360A = 25% capacity but 8% orders.
SIBL = 39% capacity but 17% orders (Tim says leave off)
HBL = 25% capacity but 5% orders.
Moonroof = 38% capacity but 13% orders.
Hitch = 45% capacity but 65% orders... includes any packages that includes hitch.

Keep in mind those hitches are likely also on a lot of the hybrids that mathematically cannot be built. So, I don't know if I would remove the hitch. The hybrid would likely be the larger constraint than the hitch.

So if ford doesn't have the capacity to finish the 23 hybrids during 23, then will Ford make
a play and reach out to the people who have ordered hybrids for 23 and give them the option
of ordering EB?

Would Ford know if the order I placed on 9/16/23 for hybrid 2023 will be built during 23?

Yes, Ford did say that. But a good dealership will give cancelled orders that reorder a 10 to insure they get scheduled before new my24 orders.

A 10 is pretty useless. It only gives priority over similar builds at that dealer.

That is contrary to the reality that many stand alone hitches have been scheduled already.

I cant remember they took orders for hybrid till the next Monday the 19th? Did they take orders on the weekend too? Will what day your order got in make any difference? I got email confirmation on same day of order too (16th).

I know if you have options that are constrained that can change your place in line.

Only for that dealer assuming an exact duplicate order to yours. Timestamp is the last piece of the chain.

If you look at the top of the F-150 page, it features the truck pulling something. In fact, all over that page is images of the F-150 pulling something.

The Maverick has one picture... and it is a teardrop camper the Escape could pull if it had a hitch. I honestly don't think Ford intended the Maverick to be a tower; I think they intended it to be a hauler.

That's where i get confused because Ford priced it at $110 which is basically nothing, who wouldn't add it?
