Some quick Excel math.

48.53% of hybrids cannot be built assuming Ford only builds 77,800 more total trucks for MY23.
Ford has over half of their EB capacity still open.
Ford has 3X as much Tremor capacity remaining as orders taken.
Ford has 2X as much CP360 Assist capacity remaining as orders taken.
Ford has almost double the number of moonroof capacity remaining as orders taken.

Assuming an equal percentage of hybrids and EB took the hitch (65%), then the hitch overage is actually proportional to the hybrid overage. So, if you end up constrained due to hybrid, then the hitch over orders would have made no difference anyway.

So there is a 50% chance my YM23 hybrid ain't going to get built this year XLT (non-LUX) but with a Hitch

Tim seemed to indicate Ford will save the hitches for the packages that include them. But we also don't know how many hybrids have hitches. If you have a hybrid order with a standalone hitch, you likely had better odds at the powerball last night.
I am betting on Ford's irrational order process to get my 2023 XLT Hybrid, with the hitch as my only option, moved ahead of 2022 order holdovers. I know it defies all odds but there is still a chance considering the past production process. Sure, I have at least 2 strikes against my order getting picked and built but there is a chance. NOT.

According to Tim this evening:

68% Hybrid orders compared to 35% capacity.
32% EB orders compared to 65% capacity.

Other than the hybrid, standalone tow hitch and splashguards seem to be the items over build capacity.

XLT Lux = 30% capacity but 25% orders.
Lariat Lux = 25% capacity but 20% orders.
Tremor = 8% capacity but 2% orders

Appearance packages are all under capacity constraints compared to orders:

BAP = 10% capacity but 8% orders.
TAP = 3% capacity but "hardly anyone ordered it"

CP360 = 60% capacity but 50% orders
CP360A = 25% capacity but 8% orders.
SIBL = 39% capacity but 17% orders (Tim says leave off)
HBL = 25% capacity but 5% orders.
Moonroof = 38% capacity but 13% orders.
Hitch = 45% capacity but 65% orders... includes any packages that includes hitch.

Keep in mind those hitches are likely also on a lot of the hybrids that mathematically cannot be built. So, I don't know if I would remove the hitch. The hybrid would likely be the larger constraint than the hitch.

Note: this has been updated as more information had been requested.
So apparently I should have left the lux package on my xlt. Should I put it back on?

I wonder if my hybrid Lariat Lux CP360+A might have a better chance of being scheduled because it would mean more margin $ for Ford. I wonder if that plays into it at all. Just wishful thinking over here.

In my opinion the XLT is not worth the effort without it. Too basic of a truck without it. You asked, I responded. :)

What is TAP?
Tremor Appearance Package. Basically one and a half grand for 50 dollars worth of vinyl tape. Apparently I am not the only one that feels that way. LOL.

Well I guess now I get to debate whether or not to drop my standalone hitch. It's literally the only additional option I have specced on my XLT.
If it helps . . . I orders a Lariat Hybrid in October of 2021 with the only option being a hitch. On October 28th (last month) I was scheduled for production for the first week Ford plans to build the 2023 Mavericks. Production is planned to starts on the 23rd of this month-- I have never been scheduled before so I am rollover. Bottom line, nobody can predict what Ford does because it's pretty evident, they don't even know.

Given that option set is undersold that's my thinking as well: a loaded Lariat hybrid might have better odds than a Hybrid XLT so Ford can use those components.

I wonder if there's any consideration to re-open EcoBoost ordering with a limited option-set, or if they will just use all of that extra capacity for dealer stock builds.

Only 8% ordered it and they can build 10% so I say ur doing ok.
As far as potentially getting a timely build date, you're right.

But spending $1645 on the BAP I've determined isn't worth it. I can do everything except for the interior trim on my own much cheaper. I should be able to remove it according to Ford chat/marketing/guy/two other dealerships/a bunch of members on here...it's just my specific dealership claims they're not able to in their system for some reason.

Plus if I remove it that will help the '22 builds that want to add it when they convert to '23.

My guess is they will try to shift resources around where they can. If Escape isn't as popular, move those hybrid parts to Maverick. But Escape also needs a full assembly line. So, they can't take everything.
OK, I don't know if this is still the case but the ECVT is/was different for the MY22 Maverick because Ford went with their in house electric motor and had to change the trans case to accommodate. I'm guessing one of those 2 items is the reason for the constraint.
Same excuse for not having AWD that the hybrid Escape has.

Just imagine how bad it would be getting a hybrid if AWD was in the mix.

I've never seen anything definitive that the trans case had to be changed. The new motor and winding design is more compact which would seem easier to reuse the existing casing and design those parts to fit it. Ford has claimed design time considerations on the lack of Maverick Hybrid AWD (although I've long suspected it's because the demand for such would be even more untenable as you say). And the Escape Hybrid does have AWD.
