Welcome to the club. I've got a scheduled production date of 9/8 and delivery date of 10/1. Hopefully those dates stick and I'll have my Maverick soon.

How about this: An email from Ford at the 10 day mark - " We have yet to receive a COVP for your Maverick from your ordering dealer! You need to go light a fire under his A** if you ever expect to see your new truck!".
I reached out to my dealer and they sent me the confirmation email they get from Ford when the COVP was approved.
I'm in line. :)

For a second I read this and thought “did I write this??”. The part about wanting an update from region sales really resonates, my dealer is intentionally vague. The scariest was he said they may drop stuff from my order if they don’t have the part. I assume he meant 360, which my wife really wants to feel comfortable in a truck. This better not happen, what would be the point of an order submission 10 months ago?? God I hate my dealer.
In my opinion, a dealer being vague when answering simple questions is a huge red flag, especially in the ordering process!!! Even the dullest dealer/salesman knows exactly what the COVP is and how to complete it!
To me, this answering vagueness is pure wiggle room so they can lower your expectations and then surprise you at delivery with Add-On's and extra fees that you hadn't anticipated!
I have discarded 3 local dealers after spending up to 3 visits each with them, based on this same vagueness. THEY KNOW EXACTLY WHAT THEY ARE DOING!

I've begun to think they should do away with the build to order model altogether. Build whatever you can, as fast as you can, ship them to dealers and let customers find what they can. This worked for many years. Ordering a vehicle was the exception. No, they still wouldn't meet demand but at least people wouldn't be left wondering for over a year.

Always amazing how @Ford Motor Company seems to disappear from this forum when “customers” need their help the most.
They're here to congratulate those that paid $5000+ markups and got a truck, not to communicate to corporate just how pissed their long time customers are, especially those that have waited over a year watching orders after theirs with the same configuration get scheduled.

Or first time customers for that matter, luckily I’m in a position as a first time customer where I don’t need the vehicle right away, but have still found this experience in my view to not be very favorable to ford getting and retaining new customers

That's also a valid point, pretty much all of the jobs I've had through my career have always had a direct impact on the customer, mostly centered on manufacting and logistics. I can tell you there is no way how Ford is handling this would fly.
You as a new customer experiencing this does nothing to create brand loyalty and like so many others could drive you away permanently (evidenced by the number of "I bought a .... " insert Tacoma, Santa Cruz, Rav4, etc).
For customers like myself, having owned numerous Ford vehicles and being a pretty large proponent of their product (one might even say a fan) they've even driven me to tell people to reconsider. I'm 13 months in and have started looking at Tacomas and Tundras. I've thought about going back to an F150 but the sour taste of this whole ordeal has me looking at everything I would never had even considered until recently. I'm at the point I need a truck, I frequently do things requiring one and traded in my F150 for a new Explorer to replace my wife's totalled one expecting the Maverick to be built within 6-9 months. If I don't have it by Spring I'll be forced to move on.
