Was wondering how the radio reception on the Mav. I live in a fringe area of NYC and listen to am. Mostly sports talk wfan 66 and CBS 88. Any difference between the base radio and the B&O. Getting the B&O in my truck.

It isn't very good on mine (XLT). The bluetooth audio isn't the best either. I put some music on a USB drive and that's all I listen to now. Much better sound quality from the USB than the radio or bluetooth.

Antenna's not great. Stream it through your phone.

One of the few issues we have with out Maverick. Radio reception is probably the worst I've had in any car, so we primarily use Android auto and spotify.

Reception could certainly be worse. It's at least better than my Fusion had; that'd start running out of range of FM stations at 25 miles.

Great on the Lariat I have. I thought HD Radio was a gimmick before I got my Maverick, but it's fantastic.

I wouldn't recommend getting a shorter antenna like others have because in my experience the reception got significantly worse.

Ouch! Listening to AM in a high RF noise environment like New York City is virtually impossible these days. You might get lucky if you are in a low noise fringe area. Even analog FM can occasionally be challenging.

If you can’t get a good HD signal, then go streaming via cellular or Sirius/XM which use terrestrial repeaters in NYC and major urban areas.

My 2013 Honda had great reception. Retired now but when working I spent 3.5 hours a day commuting. Had xm before it merged with Sirius
Even there all I listened to was deep tracks. But hope to find out shortly how bad or good the radio is.

Does the Lariat have HD? I was kinda shocked that any vehicle built today would not be HD capable, but my XLT doesn't have it.

I have had a lot of really bad Std radios in my time; but back in the day I could go to "Kar Tunes" and get a good upgrade (W/CD) for about $500. But I guess I am just an old geezer. So get of my lawn. Am planning to use USB & XM at first. For you non audiophiles the reason CD's will be missed by Geezers is the compression of streaming audio is severe. I am sure someone will come up with a solution other than changing the speakers which helps "output" but not "input". Come on guys Signal to Noise in a cheap CD player is typically more than 100 db.

My 2018 F-150 had the 31 inch steel whip, its reception was about 25% better for range, than the Maverick's short antenna.

The FM reception is poor on my xl. It's good that I can stream music.

Just put 4,000 plus miles on my Maverick going on Tennessee to California. I have Stream music and use FM radio . Never had any problem with the Mavericks FM radio I have never used the AM radio so I can't answer your questions about that. The FM picked up in the deserts the mountains any place I was on interstate 40.

Lariat Luxury Package contains Sync 3 with HD Radio (and navigation for 2023). Not available otherwise on any other Maverick.
