  1. Speaker Upgrade Options?

Infinity Reference for me. Works off stock amp and low enough profile to fit in the door. Buy off of ebay for great pricing.
  2. This is what’s in store for EV owners [LOCKED DUE TO POLITICS]

I'm glad I have a hybrid for that annual pilgrimage to grandma's house at Thanksgiving. The traffic is ridiculous most years. Waiting for a charge would make me crazy.
  3. Maverick vs. Subaru Baja

When I first ordered my Mav 2 years ago, I thought it was going to be a stretched out Baja. The Mav is so much more. Faster, stronger, roomier, quieter, better gas milage, an ECVT, A/C that works. I could go on. A Mav is grownups vehicle.
  4. Best accessory/mod under $100?

Ok you reeled me in. Magnetic mount for cell phone in cubby Cruise control-- may be over $100 if you include the forscan unit Enable Traffic sign recognition (TSR) DIY ceramic coating Cubbies in the bed. Use ford points and it is free. Keypad for entry. Use ford points to buy it and pay dealer...
  5. The goal is to haul as many kayaks as I can

I'm in the running. My truck has a bed rack and two cross bars on the cab. I also have j bars and and a cradle. It gives all kinds of options for hauling boats and I do shuttle a lot of boats. Five people and their boats is comfortable in the Mav. I'll take photos next time, but for now I'll...
  6. Another Hybrid Shuddering Thread.........Sorry

Got my hybrid back yesterday with two new axles under warranty. Invoice said it failed the vibration test, whatever that is. No loaner. Get it fixed sooner rather than waiting. Mine was practically undrivable by the time the dealer got the parts.
  7. Another Hybrid Shuddering Thread.........Sorry

I took mine in two days ago and Ford authorized 2 new axles. 16,000 mi. I asked for a loaner when I first took it in. I asked again when I picked it up. They said it is too much trouble to ask Ford at this point. Should have gone to the other dealer.
  8. Napier Tent made for Maverick

This is the first bed tent that covers the cab enough to keep the water from draining off the roof into the tent or cap. At $139 today, it priced cheaper than a single night at many hotels. Pair it with an air mattress and go camping. There is nothing stopping you. Experience the wilderness...
  9. What essential staple items do you keep in your Maverick?

Jumper pack, cam straps, tow hooks for the front tow holes on the xt, coil of tubular webbing, pruning saw, extra water in bottles (gotta fill up all those water bottle holders), sunscreen and bug spray. A shovel because I know how to use it and my grandfather always did. My wife says it is...
  10. Another Rackit installed

Yakima aerobars with landing pads for the cab and a $100 steel rack off of eBay for the rear. The bed rack was modified to match the elevation of the aerobars.
  11. Another Rackit installed

There's the beef. That rack will increase the utility of your truck incredibly. For lumber, ladders, long pieces of anything. Works as a chase rack too. You can hold on to any one of those bars and it will not move. Rack-it racks are the most heavy duty around and the mega clamps are the...
  12. Stealth DSP-Tuned Audio Upgrade with Before/After RTA

The Kicker key works only with the sub. It does work magic integrating the sub into your system. However, full DSP amps allow you to control and integrate each of your speakers into a sound system with the characteristics of your preference. That is the DSP advantage. Modern units integrate...
  13. How strong are the bed tie-downs?

Bed rails are not nearly as strong as the provided D rings. Don't ask me why I know. The D rings are also sharp and will cut through cheap ratchet straps, use slings or shackles. Cam straps are a better practice than ratchet straps for this truck.
  14. Stealth DSP-Tuned Audio Upgrade with Before/After RTA

I feel like this thread has been hijacked. A dsp amp and a sub are the best options for audiophile sound after you upgrade the speakers. Audison is a solid choice, but there are others out there. Nakamichi may be the most cost effective but lacking auto tune. I'd like to see how it turned out.
  15. What Hidden Features have you noticed?

    • When I open the door, the truck shifts to park. • All the forscan mods. Especially traffic sign recognition • The infotainment center which keeps getting updates rather than going obsolete. Coolwalk is cool. • The I Heart Radio app and Spotify which work without a cord • The app that reads...
  16. B&O - Center channel speaker

Use an L pad rather than a resistor to attenuate the volume. An Lpad in its simplist implementation is just a variable resister. We used them all the time when building speakers back in the day. Drivers never seemed to match in volume. This center speaker going to be hard to integrate into the...
  17. Hybrid Shudder. Anyone experiencing a shudder shake in hybrid

Mine started shuddering today. I have about 12k miles and is 1 yr old. It happened while I was coasting at about 30 mph at least 4 times on the way home. I can't exactly replicate it at will, but expect it to get worse. I kept looking for rumble strips, but by the fourth time I was sure the...
  18. Upgrading the Maverick B&O Sound System - DIY Howto

What I hear you all saying is that ACIM module and the B&O amp both do some digital signal processing. Neither one has a programming interface, so you are left with whatever decisions the designer made. The simplist way to tame this beast is to take two full range signals from the ACIM run it...
  19. Upgrading the Maverick B&O Sound System - DIY Howto

I really don't know. I've misplaced my calibrated mike and test setup or I'd check. I do know the door speakers get full bass. So much so that the reference speakers vibrate the inner plastic door frames beyond what I think they can handle at loud volumes. I just keep the volume down. Coax...
