Poor radio reception?

Has anyone else noticed their radio reception isn’t all that great? For both AM/FM. I live in Los Angeles and live about 25 miles from the nearest broadcasting tower. The reception is a bit spotty and staticky compared to my 2018 Corolla which is crystal clear even up to 75 miles away from the towers. I tried unscrewing the antenna and screwing it back in but everything seemed fine. Maybe the antenna itself is bad?

Has anyone else had this issue?

I have no radio stations in my town. Nearest ones are 30 miles away and it comes in pretty well for about 4 that I listen to on FM. The nearest AM is 75 miles away and is very powerful as it is in Sacramento, so it comes in fine. My last car used USB dongle that I downloaded my music too, so I have that with the Maverick.

The Maverick radio is not as good as my VOLT sound wise and I think that is because of the speakers. The Volt had a Boze setup and sub-woofer, but it's been ok. Maybe on a long trip I will wish for better. I think my USB music plays better than the FM radio stations do. My plan, when I get time, is to redo my music on a new USB dongle to a smaller, better selection down to about 800 songs.

If you are in a big Metropolitain area you might have more interreference from stations near the frequencies of the ones you are trying to listen. The radio might not handle that as well as other radios do. Maybe get a longer antenna to help receive the signal better. Just guessing.

I picked up my maverick back in October. It's an XLT and It seemed like the radio reception has been bad from the start. I don't think that it's just the speakers being kinda bad because they don't have the same problem playing spotify from bluetooth or android auto. I put a mini antennae on and it doesn't seem to have made it any worse. It's bad eitherway.
