I have no clue what's up with this thing. But the clock in my stock, factory radio refuses to keep time. It's a '24 XLT 2.0L with the XLT luxury package, so as far as I know it's the base radio available in all 2024 Mavericks except the Lariat with whatever expensive option upgraded the radio to something better. Money I wasn't about to spend on what should be a $30,000 truck.

It quit working when I tried to change the time for DST. I tapped the clock at the top of the screen to get to the "adjust the clock" screen. Then I tapped + next to the hour on that screen. Then I tapped the "back" arrow in the upper-left corner of the screen. The time *did not* change.

I had to try it 4 or 5 more times before it *finally* took.

But then I noticed a few minutes later, the time wasn't advancing. It was still reading the same minutes it had been reading when I changed the hour.

After a LOT of futzing about, I finally gave up and did a factory-reset of the radio.

AND IT STILL WON'T KEEP TIME!!! It sets the clock to some random time now, or sometimes it just displays --:-- but either way the time doesn't advance! It displays whatever the random time it decided to assign itself and never counts the minutes anymore!

WTF is up with this stupid thing?! Has anyone ever heard of this before? Is there some separate time-keeping module somewhere that might be broken? This is the stupidest thing I've ever heard of! Everything else about the radio is fine. It just won't keep time anymore. 🙄

Though the clock in my 2026 works fine, I wear a bunch of these in rotation. I pretty much always know what time it is. LOL

It's not intended to impress anyone.😉
It does what it's supposed to do, accurately keep time. It's thin and slides underneath most cuffed sleeves without getting snagged.
Yes, it has an old man expandable band that keeps it in place. Some of you may remember the band as a Twist-O- Flex band. Very comfortable.
I don't have to wind it. I don't need some winding Gadget that keeps it moving, so it stays wound.
And there's *no one on earth who's going to jack me for it and if they really want it. Who am I to say no🤣🤣
When it dies. I buy a new one for $14

* exaggeration

And yet you drive a Maverick! 🤣
Yes, I like them and it serves a great purpose for me.

This is my 3rd Maverick and one of my (3) daily drivers.

It keeps 6k+ miles a year in fishing trips off my other daily drivers (on the left).....

Someone explain to me how this thread went from "what's wrong with my Maverick's clock?" to "Hey, keen wristwatch"! :D
I had the chance to buy a "Rolex" for $15 in 1968 near Da Nang, Vietnam but turned it down when the ARVN Interpreter said "NO! GI! those only work for 3 maybe 10 days!" 🤗
