Just a FYI, the hitch on the maverick is open all the way through. So unless you cover the inside you are more than likely trapping in dirt, debris and salt if you are in a snow state. If you are, youre better off fluid filming or coating with grease and leaving it open. If you're not in a snow state then by all means ignore my useless post.

I got a XLT Hybrid. Did everyone get 4 under back row seat partition / dividers? Hybrids can only utilize 2. So I have 2 extra. Maybe I can turn them into mud flaps or something. 😜

Also did ya'all get a "grey ford oval" emblem for your back-seat center console FITS slot? Seemed like a waste of plastic to me. The trash bin is probably all I'm gonna use. I like the trash bin.

With tailgate assist you can't "lock" the bed at half-way to carry plywood though, if I'm not mistaken. It's either/or. It's a small lightweight tailgate and I'd probably get plywood two or three times a year. Are the assist struts removable on the fly without tools?
You can. I bought this back when it was $28 on Amazon, I believe it's $39 now.

Whether it's something as popular as a dash cam or maybe even just a certain mudflap, what would you recommend for a new Maverick owner?

I just received my Maverick and was curious about any recommendations, even if it's just purely cosmetic!
The switch back LEDs from Lasfit were a nice upgrade all around. I greatly prefer them to the basic amber turn signal lights.
The bed lights and tail lights are also noticeable brighter! Kinda of expensive for bulbs. But hopefully they'll last a long time and pay for themselves.

Tailgate lettering from Ford is also a nice touch. If you're going to spend the money. Get the real metal ones from Ford.

Don't worry, I learned my lesson after leaving a hitch and pin in over the winter in my old super duty. Several Sawzall blades and a grinder later I learned to pull the hitch and coat it with grease. Leave the hitch and pin stored inside the truck or at home lol

Whoa! That's a really short fulcrum on the gas struts there. They actually help? Must be 1000 psi! I think Ford OEM mount at a different spot. Like where the cable mounts, if I remember advertising correctly. Haven't seen real life ones.

I think the Ford ones replace a bottle opener/shackle. The Ford Accessories page shows the original cable still mounted side-by-side with the gas tube. Either way, I don't think its a problem and you should still be able to use the tailgate in the half up position. Of course, I neither have my truck nor a tailgate assist...

Fire extinguisher should be the first thing everyone puts in their new vehicle.

This is the OEM, made by Deezee. I think you are just mistaken (unless you’re just kidding), the assist isn’t meant to bear any load, that’s all on the cables. It’s just the one piston on that side to gentle the opening of the tailgate, nothing structural about it. Unless you install it in some strange way, it doesn’t interfere with anything about the bed or tailgate, except you have to exchange that one bottle-opener-tie-down with a simple D-Ring tie-down, like those the front of the bed. The D Rings are cheap and I actually prefer them since you can slide a strap through them 1000% easier than the bottle cap bois, which snag strap fibers and don’t let them slide while you’re adjusting and tightening down cam straps.

Ah... it's the "probably I'll never use" bottle opener that goes away. No big deal. Problem solved. Thanks. I may do this add on then.
