Noticed a video on Youtube where Toyota is now planning on releasing a small truck to compete with the Maverick. They are always behind the curve and playing catch up. Seems like all they do these days is let others innovate then they follow with what seems to sell. The early Prius might have been the only thing that comes to mind where they were ahead of the game.

If this continues to be true, then the theories about Ford being able to make 100K MY2023s seems very far-fetched indeed and the MY2023 Maverick is going to be a rare productionrun, especially for the Hybrids.
The value of my 2022 Maverick just keeps going up since 2023 production will not happen.

I ordered a 23 Mav (EB, AWD) from a relatively small dealer. I have a bad feeling this dealer is going to have a relatively low allocation. I've thought about going in to my dealer to discuss this but I don't want to ruin my weekend, so I'll just go in early next week to get the scoop. I'm lowering my expectations on my truck ever getting built..... We'll see.....

Fleet orders tend to be barebones XLs. From what we have seen, the trims of the orders are in line with Ford's expectations in terms of percentages so I think a good bit of the orders are customer retail.
Yep. My wife's company submitted a fleet order for MY2022. They have locations all over the US. Her branch received 4 white barebones XLs in August.

This may help to understand what goes on with orders. I went in today to discuss ordering a Bronco from a large dealer. His words were order a base model with few options/packages. Many options, not all are generally easy enough to add later. If they can build 20 of these orders because these other 20 are waiting on another part. Guess which one gets built first? The 20 they can complete. Now those other twenty are waiting for 2 parts each. But 20 got done instead of 40 not done.

This post caused me a proper freak out prompting me to contact my dealer. The dealer assured me my order is fine. Said that they got an email saying they're only getting allocated 8 Mavericks for the 2023 year, but assured me that only affects the dealer retail allocations and NOT THE ORDERS. I am really starting to feel like the dealers are seeing that they're only getting so many that they can potentially mark up, that they are calling customers either misinformed or purposefully getting customers to back out of orders.

I will do my best tomorrow to go down there and hear what they have to say with proof that its legit on there end. Getting called and told that I basically have 5 hours to physically be at the dealership to sign another form or whatever so my truck can be ordered. Not really helping my mood.
It’s 2022. You should be able to sign anything through a pdf or digital that they need until your actually buying it and driving it off the lot that day.

Ford is actually allowing Toyota in on the patent rights to the hybrid motor for their compact truck if my memory serves me correctly.

Yeah, I would like this not to be true, otherwise, if I get cancelled then I dont think I would look at buying a Ford ever again. The others manufacturers are going to catch up with idea and Ford will develop a bad rep in the market and people will go other places for theif hybrid truck and bad mouth the Ford company because they felt like they were screwed.
My feelings exactly! This would be my first Ford too, so they would be losing me as a customer before ever getting the chance to gain me as one and im sure im not the only one! Sure hope they get this all figured out but I must say this thread is very negative without much actual proof of anything other than what a dealer or two said that then gets cancelled out but what another said. The dealers are clueless everywhere ive been so I dont take much they say without a gain of salt. Its hard to imagine Ford would make the same mistake twice like they did with the MY22. For now Im staying positive. Speaking of one dealer cancelling out what another says, the dealer I ordered with said the allocations are for the dealerships retail sale orders not the ones the customers special ordered in those 5 days before the closing. I dunno but it makes more sense to me because why wouldnt Ford had just told each dealership how many they could take prior or put a limit across the board for each one rather than making themselves and the dealerships look bad. At the very least send out an email letting the customers know the builds will be very limited. They announced a few days before closing that they would be closing... if they already had more than they could handle you have to imagine they would have closed them sooner and wouldnt have had the heads up for several days but 24 hours at most more like it. They are a large company and they knew it was going to be in demand since this is year 2. Anything can happen and maybe some wont get built but I have to believe at least most will.

Did Ford previously let go of all their communications folks? Because the message to the dealers is obviously not very clear that those are stock allotments. Even though i think it makes sense that they are stock allotments.

I just received a call from my dealer indicating they just received their allocation for Mavericks and they are only getting 1. So, they are calling all customers, who ordered with them, and refunding their deposits. What is most disappointing is that my order was placed, and I received confirmation email from Ford, on 9/15 and I was told I was the 2nd order placed by the dealer. so, assumed I was at, or near, the front of the line behind MY22 carryovers.

Anybody else getting calls like this today?
I’ll sell you my 2023 maverick that is a 2022 carryover if I ever get a build date

My one year anniversary for my order would have been Nov 12 th.. I've received 3 emails telling me to hang in there I'm a valued customer..I got a call from my neighbor who works for Hyundai and said he had a hybrid Tucson on the lot and would I like to look at it...I bought it on the spot. It has all wheel when needed and always gets better than 35 MPG...Ford quit stringing us along and complete the orders you promised... nope Not sorry I cancelled my order.

Around April of this year I cant remember I ordered a MY22 maverick and paid the deposit. I was a 100% sure I wouldn't get one till the 23 models was built and was fine with that. Even though my full of crap sales person said it would be a couple months and I was second in line. I never got an email or nothing from Ford. I assumed I would get one when the order banks opened and let things happen when they happen. However, I have been busy at work the last couple months or more and not on the truck club to keep up with what's going. My mistake big time. So, I get a call from my sales person on 9/20 at 1:57 pm!! and he says that my order has been pushed to a MY23 (DUH!!!) and I need to get there by 7pm to sign for it since the order banks close that day. So I did. Then I check my email about an hour later and Ford sent me one.

Does this mean Ford doesn't know I made an order till 9/20?

So before I go back down there and have a high speed come apart filled with lots of screaming and vulgarity more than likely. Did I go to the back of the line?
22 order banks were closed in January for EB, earlier for hybrid. The only thing you did in April was get yourself on your dealers waitlist. They put your order in 9/20. You did not have an order prior as far as Ford is concerned.
