Hybrid more reliable than an 2.0 eco?? :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:My 🐴, are you new to this forum or to this planet? only reason is ,, its less expensive on gas and less expensive (cheaper) to buy than Fx4 AWD. Or maybe its that people just hate 250hp, 277 LBS of torque and AWD and 4K towing Capacity?? Hell I maybe wrong on this , but I dont think so!

If the FX4 AWD 4K 2.0 eco was cheaper than the front wheel drive hybrid, I wonder what folks would buy
2.0 is not that reliable. My wife had one in an Escape.

At both dealers there were two pieces of paper, I might have missed it but I did not see a clear DORA title either if them . The first one has all the details and prices for around two dozen things, that were mostly zero, as well as the sales code and order number. The second one had the total from the first and things like sales tax, registration, etc to give an out the door price.

I received the confirmation email from the Saturday morning order about 30 minutes later. The Monday morning order confirmation did arrive until after midnight but lots of people were posting about delays in getting that.

EB problems-cracked heads, direct injection carbon build up on valves, turbo reliability, so-so fuel economy, just MHO

I never said 2.0 was more reliable (im being kind) but to clame that Hybrid is more reliable well thats just asking for it. Have you added up all the (ANOTHER DEAD HYBRID) posts lately ? Just saying.

The bad cable lug issue should be resolved for 2023. A big reason I didn't order a first year model.

I thought a lot of these issues with the EB had already been cleared up? I have an EB and a Hybrid on order. Sounds like both models have issues. Hopefully I made the right decision or maybe I won't even win the lotto and get either one built, lol.

So far I have heard from three sources that somewhere around 80% of the orders for 2023 Mavericks are for hybrids.

The Ford Video Guy said that about 80% of their hundreds of orders were for hybrids. That was covered well in this post.

https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/f...xlt-206-lariat-with-80-of-them-hybrids.20750/

There is a poll here that says that 72.9% of the 480 members that answered the poll had ordered hybrids

https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/forum/threads/is-your-2023-order-a-hybrid-or-ecoboost.20390/

There was also a post in the Facebook Maverick group by someone at a smaller dealership that said that 21 of their 25 orders (84%) were for hybrids.

Ford has said that they expect that about 35% of the 2023 Mavericks can be built as hybrids.

Despite some of the wild numbers being thrown out no one really knows how many 2023 orders have been entered but I think that it is pretty safe to say that they have a lot more hybrid orders than they can fill.

It could be that Ford managing the orders well and closed the Hybrid order book before there were way more hybrid orders than they could fill but when you hear about dealerships with hundreds of customer orders I tend to doubt that.

Ford has already said not to expect any sort of price protection like they did for 2022 orders if you do not get a 2023 order. The tone of that memo which also said they would close the order books early sounded a bit panicked.

I set up my preorder in July for my ideal hybrid when the order book was scheduled for August when little of this was known. By Monday it was pretty clear that even with long wait that the odds of me getting that 2023 hybrid were not good so I set up a second order for an Ecoboost with a different dealer. I hope I will get the Ecoboost by next spring if not even by this winter since only 20% of the orders are for Ecoboosts.

We will not be driving a lot of miles each year on our Maverick so the lower MPG does not have a huge impact on us and the Ecoboost will still get better MPGs than the pickup it is replacing so that can work for us.

It is not clear to me if you will be allowed to change your order from Hybrid to Ecoboost after the order banks close. If someone knows for sure it would be good if you could clarify that.

If not then today(9/21/22) is the last day that you can set up an Ecoboost order so you might want to consider if you should change your order to Ecoboost or enter a backup Ecoboost order if not getting your hybrid would be a problem for you.

Any thoughts about this elephant?
I get that the Ecoboost works for some people, but I would have never wanted a Maverick if it wasn't for the Hybrid. My 2018 F-150 2.7l Ecoboost gets 26 mpg highway, almost as good as the maverick Ecoboost with way more capability. 42 mpg is what I'm looking for and the primary reason I want a Maverick, so I will wait however long it takes

I"m still rolling in my 2002 Mercury Grand Marquis I bought 17 years ago. Sure it is kind of a gas hog, but the repairs are relatively easy, and you never have to wait on parts for it. Also the engine and transmissions themselves are bulletproof.

I'm not saying an hybrid will last 20 years, but I would also not make any bets on any turbo engine lasting that long, as I've not heard good things regarding the EB and longevity.

That was me last year. This year went EB and have no regerts at all. It should 🙏 actually get built which at this point is all I care about.

My Old Red Ranger is a great old truck but at 240k miles and a sticky clutch and crappy gas mileage it’a not a great place to live.

I am hoping Ford learned from the MY2022 ordering procedure, and I don't think they intentionally try to piss consumers off by repeated mistakes. As others have pointed out, I think it is a GOOD THING Ford closed the Hybrid ordering banks early. Logically (I know a big leap) it should mean Ford recognized they were reaching their Hybrid retail building capacity. If that's the case, most of us should see our orders...eventually. That is IF your salesman placed the order correctly. This would logically (there's that word again) apply to the EB ordering banks staying open for retail orders a bit longer, as it does appear more Hybrids were retail ordered. After retails order close, the dealers can put some dealer orders in to get stock in their lots, which was not much for MY2022 unless they were canceled retail orders were someone got tired of waiting. As for me, I'm just going to save my money for a bigger down payment and be patient. I am a "day one-priority 10" order, and my salesman is fairly confident I will see my order in 6-8 months. The order is for the Lariat Lux, CPA360. While this is a "constraint package/configuration" I did not load it up with a bed-liner, mud guards, or other low supply items I can add on after market. (I think that may be the key)

The only orders marked 10 should be MY22 rollovers. Ultimately its up to the dealer though.
