Ill try to post a pic later, but i just checked underneath my maverick and the holes on mine were better cut than the original poster…. On his it looks like they did it with a pair of child rounded scissors. they obviously outsourced the job to some dude who outsourced to another dude who gave the job to his kids.

I’d order a new one. I’m thinking about doing this after mine is “fixed.”

I’d also like to get the louvres back and reinstall them.

This recall is only being done to satisfy lawyers. Now that the issue of the defective crankshafts has been resolved, the Maverick should be no more subject a problem than any other vehicle on the road.

This is the sort of thing, and with all the other issues, that makes me think I would be a fool to order a M23 Maverick. I can't imagine what it must be like managing a ford plant in Mexico.
That plant won some quality awards recently. It’s one of the best Ford has.

I don't understand what you are on about. Tell me about ALL the other issues. The OP's hack job was done by his crappy dealer NOT the factory. I have 10,000 trouble free miles on my MAV Hybrid, and if something does go wrong that is what my warranty is for. Sheesh!

And a bunch of you guys are wiggin' out about four lousy shutter vanes being removed and some drainage holes being drilled in the engine undershield. Drama Queens, for feks sake!

Ford shouldn't expect customers to be ok with rigged parts. I picked up my first order last month (hybrid) and have identical one that is being rolled to 23. Ford needs to address Mav issues. I thought the Mav was a great idea and it checks a lot of boxes but only if it is well built/reliable.

A Ford tech posted his version of the repair on reddit. It looked like shit and I called him out on it. Now I see how much worse it could have been.

Due to the nationwide shortage of tools, these were done with a hammer and a flathead screwdriver...not bad considering!
Nah, this was rocks, sticks, and teeth.

There are some other threads on this fix, where the factory diagram for the holes is posted. I did it myself because of pictures of a dealers hack job someone posted. If you take your time, use a hole saw to radius the corners of the larger cuts, and use a block of wood under the drill bit, it turns out fine. The fuzz cleans up with a razor blade.

I have a Maverick hybrid the recall for the bottom Pam to drill holes in it was done at the factory in Mexico . In my opinion and I know everyone has one I think a 1st grader could of done better job !!!!! 👎🤔. Holes are not straight not even close and the material is very hairy and they left all kinds of fuss or what ever on the holes and I think they took my Maverick in a field or something when I took the pan down to change my oil all this grass fell out of the pan and it's never never been off road never !!!! the grass it self could of caught fire .🔥🔥 Also the fussy hair stuff burns real good and fast . I hope I'm the only one but I thought I let all of you know . Very poor on Ford quality control.

I am wondering if the metal pan being used for the 2023 Tremor might be a better fix? Will it line up to the same fasteners and holes that are used on the Hybrid fabric material pan?

So what are your quality control check offs?
✓Can't see it
✓Doesn't pose an immediate problem

The 'problem' comes from we expect a quality fix from the company that manufactures the vehicle. I would have holes cut out and covered with correctly sized louvers (plastic/metal) secured with snap rivets.

Automotive and construction background. That is my jam

Did you hear that? Yeah, what is it? It's those stupid louvers vibrating, but you only notice it above 55mph.

I like grape jam.
