I mentioned this last week. Ford has never officially said anything to the public about ordering banks opening. Everything we've seen was from Ford Internal and website leaks. This is probably why. The opening date has always been fluid so Ford only sent out stuff internally and never came out and said an official date. They still haven't so who knows what will happen. Maybe they will bring it back up.

Yeah, I just heard "September" too. Geez, things are really dragging. You get to thinking it can't get any worse.............

The new mustang will be at the Detroit auto on September 14th... Just coincidence? @fordvideoguy are you going to the Detroit auto show?

What about the August 1st announcement about the changes between the MY '22 and '23? Like options, colors, etc.

All the constraints on parts, logistics problems, shortage of semiconductor chips, the overwhelming number of people that put in orders for the Maverick, Covid, and the labor problem all happen to add up into the perfect storm!!

I’m just glad I was able to find and buy someone else’s hybrid XLT with the Lux pkg in VB after he decided to buy an F-150 instead!
what did you end up paying for it?

For months I have been excited about ordering a new Maverick. Reading the forums and deciding the details of "my build."
The excitement has waned and I feel like even if I go through the ridiculously antiquated hoops necessary to order one, I am not likely to actually possess it for a long time . . .
I think I will let it go and either look for something else or wait for the 2024 which will probably be the first redesign. I might actually get that 2024 in 2025 if we haven't all been killed by global warming/climate change.

I totally agree...Ford has screwed up this situation and screwed their customers over this situation. I have bought Ford in the past and been happy but at this point like I posted previously, unless I find a Maverick sitting somewhere in PA or close, I am done, possibly forever.

this is my first and my last Ford I’ll ever own. The no communication and blatant lies I was told for the last 8.5 months is nothing short of embarrassing. I should have ordered a Colorado.

I have visited a Balise Ford of Wilbraham twice to discuss ordering a Maverick. The salesman is nice but seems lackadaisical, on the second visit the sales manager says August 2nd. I call yesterday morning to make an appointment for Tuesday and talk to that salesman. He said no need to make appointment as they don't have official word from Ford yet. Tells me they changed order dates for Ranger last minute. States he will call when he knows something firm. I remind him the date the sales manager told us, and he still says no need for appointment. I'm a little put off at this point as I am eager.

I call another dealer Marcotte Ford. The salesman I talk to was like you want to buy a Maverick. Ordering opens on Tuesday how about 9:15 appointment? I'm all in, this guy seems more on the ball. So, I make the appointment.

Yesterday afternoon the salesman from Balise calls me. Says they have An EB FWD XL someone didn't take that ordered it, wants to know if I want it. Quoted sticker, no markup. I turn it down because I really want hybrid. Makes me feel better that he called though and they weren't marking it up.

Not sure which dealer to go with. The first salesman was right. Also curious if the second one will call to cancel appointment.

Any experience with either of these dealerships?

I’m guessing the complicated Aug 2 process was a complex committee decision between a bunch of selfish groups (manufacturing, order processing, marketing…) that wouldn’t back down from their narrow perspectives and play nice together.

Then some senior guy came down and asked “what’s going on with the Maverick rollover”, saw how stupid it was, then knocked some heads together until a more sensible solution formed. Still not the best solution, but better.

Of course the long term fix is Farleys plan to wind down all the crappy old Ford systems as part of Ford Blue, and create new on line systems starting with EVs. He concluded Fords old sales, marketing, ordering, tracking, and customer communications systems are so broken they’re unfixable.

Oh my gawd this is good. The realists bashing Ford….the fan boys defending them. This is absolutely precious.

I am going to keep my order that got pushed to “sometime in the future” and watch this debacle unfold. Comedy gold I tell you🙃👍

Hey everybody I just got off the phone with Edsel Ford IV, he told me that all 2023 Maverick orders were placed, signed, and RSCOVP'd last June. They were all lux 360 package hybrids in Antimatter Black. All 120,000 of them were sold Amazon Primes new mobile medical services. Free colonoscopies everyone!!!!

I’m pretty sure 23 production won’t be starting in October anymore with orders being placed in mid-September. Scheduling was supposed to start in September. This all sounds like them pushing the 23 start back to accommodate finishing 22 orders. There will be more to this story……guaranteed.
Keep pushing it back I say. More time for professionally run car companies to come to market with their version of the Maverick.

Toyota plug in Hybrid. 👍
