$200 a wheel after purchase price, remove/install/balance- Not that I really want to pay more for 235/65/17- I think the 17 Alloys that come with that upgrade suit me better- Just my 02 cents
Another thing to add to that.
You can probably sell the tires you get with the truck to cut the cost of replacing them down.
Additionally, oems sometimes get name brand tires that aren't as good as the real aftermarket tires of the same make/model. So buying aftermarket wildpeak tires might be higher quality than what Ford would give you anyway.
Can't know for sure without having inside information about the deal they made behind the scenes.

How does one lose towing capacity @ elevation with a turbo'ed engine ?
No free lunch, your engine works harder to make up for the difference. these are small engines to begin with. The expected life is 100,000 miles of normal wear and tear. Carbon build is an issue unless you use premium gas. Premium gas will not increase your mpg. But at your elevation you would be best to use premium anyways. It all depends on your ultimate goal (Long term VS short term) It really works down to pay me now or pay me later.

:)I prefer to pay now and have the peace-of-mind for a long period to come. I have a 2004 Toyota Sequoia I got to replace a Suburban. It cost more upfront, but in the long run I have saved money. I like informed decisions so that choice is entirely yours. It is just my take and experience. Yours may vary.:D

It is a car, not a truck, VERY comfortable to sit in and get out of.
Yet this forums name ;)

it’s a LUV light utility vehicle that’s my story and I sticking to it, until I change my mind or underwear whichever comes first.

Since I'm going with the Alto Blue/Black themed look, I am better off running the 225's on the solid black FX4 rims until it is time for new tires, then decide....may even be a better choice by then.

You lose power at higher altitude, because there's less air, hence less towing capacity.
But in my experience the biggest factor by far isn't towing, it's braking. If you have a big old trailer that weighs more than rig that's towing it, you're in trouble unless you set up the trailer braking carefully.

You do get legit A/T Wildpeak tires though-
But not without giving up the solid black FX4 wheels. The Wildpeaks can be added when it is time for new tires...or maybe something better will come along.

I am a mechanic for 30 years.. Second generation.. never in my life have I heard of someone rotating the spare with other tires...
You can rotate a spare into ONE SIDE only. Only rotate front to back, not side to side.

Of course but turbos do better than non - turbos due to forced induction @ elevation.

That's the route I went. I like the look of the black wheel and I think they look nice with the Alto Blue. If I decide to go bigger later I'd likely choose an aftermarket wheel.

But we're not comparing non to turbo'd, just whether you lose power/towing capacity at altitude on whatever vehicle. They all suffer, and the harder your push it, the sooner it'll crap out. We turbo'd F150s way back, great for a while, then gonzo if you pushed too hard too long.
And I'll still maintain you're limited as much by braking ability as towing capacity.
Many have made the point, and I agree, this is a light and light duty flexible vehicle with some features that appeal to handy people. I'm happy to score a pretty damn good vehicle that serves most of my maintenance and chore duties, as well as travel, at 40mpg for $20k with a hitch that can move a utility trailer around. But it ain't and never will be a heavy duty truck. If I wanted more capacity, I'd get another Frontier or Ranger, or if a lot more capacity an F150. Nothing more dangerous than an undersized rig for the intended use.

Car, truck train bus etc we all have our preconceived concepts. for vehicles we have one word descriptions. you can call it a light utility vehicle other may call it a UTE

One thing remains, the more you try to enhance it, the less capable it seems to become when it comes to towing. As you stated in another post it is a niche vehicle. If too many people try to make it something it is not, that could cause its demise. The more we experience inflation the more people will push the limits. The lawyers will try to make it Ford's fault.

It was made not to cannabilize sales from the Ranger. Too many people will want to push it to that level.

Almost makes me want to buy one and store it in a window and door less garage not to be opened for 25 years. I bet it would appreciate more than the sales floor condition Fiero.
