There’s 9 more months of 2022, 6 months of production left minimum of MY 2022
Dun, I was responding to this statement in Ford's post - "We will do everything possible to build your vehicle within the ‘22MY, however the dynamic supply base and manufacturing environment we are currently experiencing makes it difficult to promise the vehicle will be scheduled this year".

Hello All Current and Future Maverick Customers

We fully recognize there is a lot of interest and excitement about the Maverick. We are here to answer your questions and be as transparent with you as possible about any confusion in the ordering, scheduling, and production process. Rest-assured, our goal is to build as many Mavericks as we can and satisfy as many new Maverick customers as possible given global supply chain challenges. First, we have seen incredibly strong demand for this vehicle, receiving 12 months of orders in the first 3 months! This paired with unprecedented supply chain issues has caused delays in scheduling customers’ orders for production. We recognize this has caused frustration, and we are working non-stop to find solutions to get vehicles into your driveways as quickly as possible.

The unforeseen and unprecedented challenges with the supply chain are currently impacting the following optional features and packages on Maverick:
  • Co-Pilot360 package (optional on XL, XLT, and Lariat trims)
  • XLT Luxury package (optional on XLT trim)
  • Lariat Luxury package (optional on Lariat trim; requires Co-Pilot360 package)
  • Spray-In Bedliner (optional on XL, XLT, and Lariat trims; included in Lariat Luxury package)
  • Cargo Management System (optional on XL, XLT, and Lariat trims; included in XLT & Lariat Luxury packages)
  • Hard Trifold Tonneau Cover (optional on XL, XLT, and Lariat trims)
  • Splash Guards, Molded, Front and Rear (optional on XL, XLT, and Lariat trims)
If you have an unscheduled 2022 model year retail order and have been waiting an extended period for my order to be scheduled, confirm with your Ford dealer that they have completed the required Customer Order Verification Process (COVP) and received confirmation of its approval. If your order has any of the constrained options or packages listed above, you could choose to remove them from your order by working with your dealer, and that will increase the chances of it getting scheduled sooner due to the current commodity constraints. While we understand that nobody wants to make tradeoffs, it is an option to consider if you need your vehicle as soon as possible. We will do everything possible to build your vehicle within the ‘22MY, however the dynamic supply base and manufacturing environment we are currently experiencing makes it difficult to promise the vehicle will be scheduled this year. Since oldest orders are prioritized first, orders most likely to be impacted are those that were submitted closest to the Hybrid (Nov. 15th) or Ecoboost (Jan. 27th) order cut off dates.

Thank you for your interest in Maverick and your patience during this process. Our goal is to build as many Mavericks as we can so you can get out there and enjoy the 2022 North American Truck of the Year.
I ordered a Maverick XL Hybrid Base model with no options on Oct 25th wish it could jump the line order G333 F52068.

So you knew that you maxxed out of capacity at the beginning of September yet you continued to take orders for the hybrid thru mid Nov and the Eco thru most of January?
@pigsareus makes a good point. If this is true -- and it seems official -- then it really puts Ford in a bad light.

I have to say it's odd, though. This is the first time I've seen Ford come out and say anything at all about how many orders they actually took. Up to now all the talk (from Ford) has been about reservations. It's strange that Ford would reveal this (up until now) closely guarded information in the middle of a forum post about material shortages.

(Of course, whoever writes these statements could just be mixing up reservations and orders the way a lot of people do. But that would also be very strange. It should be reliable information.)

Well according to ford, there is, as of now, no longer an allocation system on maverick.
That's incorrect. Their post only alluded to shifting the allocation process from their former strictly sales-based approach.
As I understood it -- and I could be wrong -- the role allocations play is going to be significantly reduced for Mavericks. In future, Ford is planning to use its limited production capacity to build the oldest buildable orders. To me, that makes allocations much less important in comparison with order date.

I think this means that Ford will try to pick out the oldest buildable orders to build and then give "allocations" to those dealerships to cover those orders. That means the allocations won't really play much of a role in deciding what gets built.

Is there another way to interpret what they are saying that makes allocations more significant?

I based that off of multiple articles I found when I searched for the number sold, 🤷‍♂️, you know better than I do
That 100k reservations was about the time I ordered in the latter part of August. Orders continued to pour in until the cutoffs were announced.

So your ballpark figure is 60k. You are saying that the assignment of a VIN is meaningless until the vehicle is built and delivered. That makes sense. On vehicles scheduled to be built, we see a VIN over 61000. If only 60000 are going to be built does that means Ford will build 1K less than the vehicle builds already assigned? If that is the case they might as well not schedule anymore as they will need the rest of the MY production year to finish the present builds scheduled. Now Ford could assign 200,00 Maverick VINs. Why, I would have no idea. A VIN number directly identifies a specific truck and unless there was going to be 200,000 trucks, why would they??

Your math, in my humble opinion, does look reasonable.. Using your 6k per month added to known production of at the end of January of 33,722 plus your projected Feb-Sept production at 6K per month (although Feb was probably around 5400) equals an estimate of about 81,700. That , to me, seems ballpark.

Of course, unfortunately, all this discussion of production will not really influence when we get "our" truck. Higher projected production numbers do give us a chance to be more optimistic that our orders may get filled in MY22. Sometimes it is nice to have something to optimistic about, especially as applied to our getting our Maverick. Peace!
sounds like you are assuming EVERY VIN was assigned strictly to USA retail customers while also assuming that retail saleable VINs started at 00001 and continued uninterrupted sequentially? We know for a fact multiple Thousands are going to Latin America. We also saw dozens of Test Mules all over the country pre-launch. There were also dozens of trainers circulating the USA, loaned media units, trade show, car show display units, units for EPA and NHTSA safety testing, etc. They also probably reserved a few hundred at least for internal sales to Ford Employees.

A final anecdote: I used to work in R&D at a couple global mobile phone companies. As new pre-production phones passed regulatory and got FCC OK for putting in service on live networks like ATT, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile- multiple blocks of serialized phone labels were dedicated to those test units and hundreds issued for internal use as well. None went on sale to the public. I recently called Ford Customer Service checking if I had a VIN assigned yet (I didn't) and was told by the CSR Ford issues the VINs "in batches" and mine could show up in any forthcoming new batch and keep checking with them to find out whenever I wanted.

So my best guess is that no matter how high a VIN somebody on here lists for their build, there will be thousands less than that built and shipped for retail sale here in USA. Doesn't mean VINs weren't issued that high, just that some % of those VINs will never be on our USA delivered trucks. I could always be wrong

I agree based on the declining #s built, not hard to see that there is no way in hell Ford will get all of their 22 orders built. I'm trying to decide if I want to wait for over a year for a Maverick.
I agree with you - ordered mine on October 5, 2021 and still no information or email to when can expect a build date- I'm starting to look elsewhere - Being a Ford person no respect for there customers these days

What would you like from them? A email once a week telling you that they still don't know when your truck is going to be built because they don't have a good handle on whether enough supplies will come in to clear up all the orders before yours?

Because that's what's going on.

To put things in perspective, I've been waiting for my contractor to get an HVAC unit for almost a year now. And because it's a commercial unit, there's a lot less demand for that than for a Maverick.

I told the contractor not to bother with the weekly check ins. I told him to let me know when the unit is on its way so that I can clear up time for him install it.

All over social media, I see posts like the one you commented on; people had/have high expectations and want answers even tho they know of the issues with the supply chain and other issues that are forcing these slow build times.

Well, if they know what the issues are, then they know the answer to the question, don't they?

They don't like the answer. To which I say:
