This looks like good news - weren't the projected production figures 5,400 for March?
No, the scheduling allocations for March (for May production dates) were 5400.

52k+ so far is really great news, but if I remember correctly, the allocation numbers for Feb (for Apr build dates) were in the 6500 range. These lower numbers would indicate that the real issue isn't production capacity at Hermosillo, but supply chain limitations. They can't build what they don't have parts for.

In any case, even at just 5k per month for Apr-Sep, that's another 30k for the MY22 Mavericks. Hope springs eternal...

I'm surprised they are building that many Bronco Sports and Escapes. I wonder what percentage of that number was Hybrids?
My HYBRID Alto Blue XLT DIBL is in production now. I order Aug 17/21 and in 🇨🇦

I think your math is off....again
Are you one of those people that think only 50-60k Mavericks were ordered? You think in the entire country, a truck this cheap, this popular, this good on gas mileage, when hundreds of thousands of other popular cars are made a year, that there's less than 100k that were ordered? I'm not talking that WILL BE BUILY, obviously all manufacturers are making less than normal the past 2 years and going into next year...I'm just talking about those who have a build sheet since June of last year, to include fleet vehicles. You think 50, 60, 70k is ALL the orders that were placed across America and Canada for a Ford Maverick? You think a number that low is all thats in the system for one of the best and most desired vehicles of the year?

Hmmmm. I wonder why Ford had cutoff dates for each powertrain, before they ever really even advertised the vehicle.

Your latest silly point does not support your original poorly thought out post. Sure, Ford COULD HAVE taken hundreds of thousands of orders, but all actual evidence says they did not.

At a run rate of just 9k a month, they can produce about 50k more between now and MY22 closeout, which puts them within the generally assumed range of how many ACTUAL orders they DID (not could have) receive. Now can they maintain a 9k rate? Can they boost that a little higher? That is what will determine their ability to produce all orders. They do not need to triple their production rate to produce half of orders as you originally posted because, as I replied, your math is off homie.

One small quibble... as I recall they were planning 5400 allocations in March (for scheduling in the May timeframe), so the high March build numbers will likely not apply at least for May production. On the flip side, the fact that they are planning for 10,300 allocations for April (for June production scheduling) is encouraging.

Clearly they have forecasted internally that they'll have the components they need to turn out that kind of volume in June, despite their estimation of what they would have available in May (as evidenced by the much smaller March allocation numbers for builds in May).

I can only hope that this bodes well for a lot of the previously constrained items, although late order/hybrid/Lux/360 holdouts like me are probably still looking at a strong chance of rollover to MY23.

As these quotes illustrate, there are really two pieces to this puzzle: (1) how many Mavericks will get built and (2) how many were actually ordered. You can't predict a huge shortfall without having a grasp on both of those pieces, because the shortfall is the difference between them.

We are getting more info on the production piece. My latest guess was that Ford might get close to 100k Mavericks by the end of August (in a best-case 9.5k per month scenario). Now I hear that production might continue to mid-October, which could add another 15k or so.

But we have practically no evidence on the order piece. People like to argue based on early reservation numbers, but we don't know how many of those were converted to orders. Ford hasn't announced any order numbers, and the truth is we just don't know.

The folks who make confident statements about massive shortfalls need to tell what they actually know about the magnitude of orders. (Something more than "Wow, look at all those reservations!")

The original 5400 March estimate (for May) is irrelevant now. They have assigned VINs to 70500+ for production through the week of 5/23 and we know 52684 were produced through March. So Ford is expecting close to 10K per month for for both April and May.

I was wrong when I posted 52k so far produced. Including the March numbers, they have produced ~26800 so far this year, plus a bit over 13k for all of 2021, so a bit over 40k total.

Where’s the 70500 VIN number from? Not disputing it, just hasn’t seen that posted.

Ugh never mind, 25880 for 2021, and then 26800+ by end of March, 52k it is.

it’s late & I’m tired & my late Oct order with all the goodies is still a long shot.
