I love my Maverick, and until yesterday I have had no issues.
Last night I got into the truck, turned the key, and nothing happened. Screen black, no sounds, and the automatic locks didn't even work.
I jumped it with my wife's Jetta. The Maverick immediately woke up when I connected the jumper cables. I left the Jetta running a couple minutes just to make sure. I was able to start the Maverick and drive it down the street and back. I parked it in my lawn, turned it off, and it's dead again. I will take to a dealer in the next day or 2.

Anyone heard of similar issues? Is it a battery problem or something else?

Yes this is a common issue with the hybrid. Do a search on this forum and you will see lots of threads talking about it. It’s a bad 12v cable. Also report this issue to NHTSA…

Nope, you're not the first. Mine just reached 7,000 miles and the same exact thing happened to mine. I'm pretty sure I had nothing left on inside the truck and don't have Ford Connect active. Placed a multimeter across the leads under the hood and across the battery terminals and it read 0 (zero) volts. Tried to jump it with my wife's van - nothing. Used a plug in battery charger and the multimeter read 13.6 volts. Still nothing. No overhead lights, no dash indications... nothing. My thought is that since the battery completely died, something happened to prevent the high voltage battery from doing the same thing. It's still sitting in my driveway at the moment, front in. Not sure how to get it towed at this point since there is no indication of power to the truck to place it in neutral. Still looking for ways to wake my truck up such as a cutoff switch or something. Since the computer won't power up, I can't do the key to on, high beam 5 times, and break 3 times - or at least that doesn't work (found that in the manual). Or maybe it just didn't have a strong enough charge. Not sure. Will be bringing it in for service in the next week. Still love my truck. Just irritated a little. But like I saw in a post somewhere, first-run vehicles are like a beta test. We are beta testers and will help work out all of the bugs. Good luck. Hoping mine is good too.

Very disappointing to hear of yet another one. Gotta keep reminding myself that the majority have been OK so far, but still makes me nervous.

all of them will fail.

if they are all made using the same failed process - then they will all fail eventually. not a matter of if - but when.

has anyone come up with a preventative bandaid yet?

Not necessarily. You’re speculating that they will all fail. It could have been the result of one person at the plant not paying attention when he was crimping the cables. Could have been a machine malfunction. Could have been a bad batch of cables. Could have been many things. You don’t know, and neither do I.

Let me give you the fanboi response before some super-fanboi comes in and does it:

1) You are an outlier, a complainer, this is not a wide spread problem. Only complainers on forums have this issue.
2) Everyone on earth has a MTC account and no one else is complaining but you and three other people. So this can't be a serious issue.
3) Ford will fix it under warranty, you self entitled ingrate.
4) They'll get to it when they get to it. You just keep making car payments and Lyft reservations until then
5) Ford is #1

Definitely didn't place my post as a complainer. Just trying to get some advice. Ford doesn't have any on their FAQ yet and the generic owner's manual isn't helping. I love my Maverick. Best vehicle I ever owned. It's a first-year vehicle. There are bound to be problems. Just hope Ford learns from it and makes it better in the coming years.

Thankfully, mine jump started quite easily, but that is the only way it would start. I got it to the dealer Friday and am waiting for them to get a chance to look at it.

You need to get this clamp when back in stock. It is just an emergency bailout in case you have the CABLE ISSUE. Others may find this locally.

Clamp, Tubing Clamp, Open Sided, 13mm (westlab.com.au)

Amazon.com: Stainless Steel C Clamps Mini 1 Inch for Mounting, Heavy Duty Metal U Clamps for Metal Working, Small Desk Clamp with Stable Wide Jaw Opening & Protective Pads/I-Beam Design (6pcs) : Everything Else

What happens when you can't get it out of neutral? I have a MR2 with a smt trans that that was stuck in gear. Not actual linkage to the trans. The tow truck guy just dragged it. Made me cringe.
