Dropped mine off at the dealer today. No idea how long it'll be gone. Got a free rental from Enterprise.
Must be nice! Mine goes Thursday… got the we don’t have any loaners due to market blah blah… one loaner is being used for someone’s back ordered engine? Ugh… keep us posted!

Call me crazy but when driving I hear what sounds like rain drops hitting the windshield or hood above the driver seat, but it's not raining lol

Any ideas

I fixed it a few ways

1 turn on heat to max heated wipers it went away.

Pushed and pulled on all.the trim parts from dash all the way to by your feet some parts move just push and pull on them it also made it go away.

Banging on the headliner had a clip pop in worked my way down it thumping on it with a modest thump. Fixed that one.

The window is squdeky putting on heat makes it go away. Dealers will just say can't replicate on rough un even pavement is when you hear it.

I also noticed that the wheel liners on the driver side has a hole so dirt and mud spray up on the inside if the fender. There are a few things the plastic liners and under body plastic are paper thin and easy to damage. Really cheap

Also have this same issue coming from the passenger/dash side. Happens when going over any sort of bump in the road

Update from me: dealer has no idea how to locate the issue. They're in touch with Ford.

I remember when I had my 2007 mustang gt (all plastic interior)it had an annoying dash rattle. I would have to hit the dash to fix it but it would eventually come back… I hope my Maverick is silent….

Yep let us know! The saga/search continues!! It’s so perplexing! I think I figure it out and ??? I wish o was able to make my own strut tower brace…. I oddly think it’s structural flexing against windshield.
I took the driver side A pillar trim off/loose today and taped any plastic connectors that moved, even put some padding in areas near the headliner, not to obstruct the airbag.
It did not make a difference. Wondering if it's how the Windshield it attached/connected as well that may be loose or something. Getting my cracked windshield replaced soon when they get one, so I'll see if that fixes it before taking it in to Ford.

Mine as well, from the pax side. I am highly suspect of the trim that runs across the dash that begins at the center dash and runs to the left AC vent, the passenger air bag warning light sits in it. That whole piece seems flimsy. I’m trying to figure out how it comes off in order to put felt, or something behind it. It could be a process of elimination thing.

Need to post a picture… but I did notice/find the black insert (passenger side of dash) where the airbag orange light is at and the cool torx bolts (3) of them are…. It’s nice and tight until you push on the far left corner (lighted area) closest to center console is at… not an issue for me but could be noisy??

If that’s the case I’ll flip the XL for a Ridgeline- I have 300 miles on it, but the rattle is ruining the joy of new vehicle ownership.

Ok…not good news. They found it is in the passenger dash. Used a stethoscope to pinpoint. Unfortunately, they won’t take apart the dash because they don’t know what is causing it. Nothing is hitting the windshield. Then the dealership (where I did not buy it from) told me it’s poor build quality- not just mine but all of them. They are not looking forward to a long line of recalls they have to address. They said they have not serviced a more poor thought out design and quality…….they said until people complain, and it has to be a lot, ford won’t do anything.
