Once worked with a quite competent metallurgist who bought a new Ford and thought the 36,000 mile warranty meant he was responsible for zero maintenance during that period. When the engine seized at about 25,000 miles, the dealer refused his warranty claim since the original factory filter was still attached to the engine. Beware of gaps in knowledge. Still, had some C-Max drivers extend their oil change intervals by using Blackstone.

I love your homemade ramps OP. I did a similar setup with pressure treated 2X12's, works so much better than the store-bought ones. Thanks for posting.

How long did the oil change take?

Where are the ramps? I'd like to see what he did and what you did. I've got some store bought ones made out of reinforced heavy duty plastic. They seem sturdy, but I'm always paranoid they'll give out. Not as big a deal for a truck (since they usually have more clearance) as for my Camry.

I have the same home built ramps :p

They are heavy, but they work great. I did them mainly because the my Mustang's front valance wouldn't clear typical ramps, so I did the 2x12 stepped ramp.

I also like how you can easily tell where you are in relation to the top with each step up.

Can ANYONE show PROOF that a motor failed due to lack of oil changes ? In fact an article by one major university, ran one Taxi out of 101 taxis, (NEVER CHANGED THE OIL)( 50 ran on fossil oil, 50 on synthetic) for 100,000 miles only changing the filter and found no significant metallic particulates or wear on ANY of the 101.
I find it hard to believe that someone would put the sludgy old oil back in the vehicle after changing the oil filter, but in any case, could you post your VIN number, just in case I ever shop for a used Maverick?

I'm not doubting you, I'm just curious. Why are the homemade ramps better than the store-bought ones?

How long did the oil change take?
I generally don't get in a hurry when I do the oil changes on my vehicles. Normally 30-40 minutes. This one a little longer since I wanted to look around underneath.

The car has an oil life monitor. Change the oil when your at 10percent oil life.

Anyone who does it before is a retard and wasteing their money and time.
And why do you care about other people wasting their money and time?

Also, not sure if you know or not, but you can skip posts that you don't like. Super simple, and only 4 words to remember. Ready? Just. Mind. Ya. Business

Wood can hold a metric f-ton of weight. I trust my ramps a hell of a lot more than the plastic ones. I've seen photos of the store bought ones, both metal and plastic, crunched underneath vehicles. I will say that mine are heavy and don't nest well. I might invest in some Race Ramps - plastic ramps that you can remove the ramp from and throw some jack stands under - at some point, but $150 buys a lot of lumber; even in this market.

Looked good, but with oil today looks aren't everything. I'll likely send a sample to Blackstone on my next change. I'm guessing I can easily go 7500 between changes, probably more.

Legit observation. Obviously, lack of oil could be interesting, but do synthetic oils deteriorate at all? I follow the manufacturer's guidance when it comes to oil and tire rotations, but is changing synthetic oil important? I don't know.
The problem isn't the oil breaking down it's the particulates too small for the filter that build up over time. They do have filters that filter to a smaller size but the flow rate is too slow to keep the engine lubricated.

Never needed to change it to begin with.
