Just changed hybrid oil and filter at 3,099 miles. Used Castrol Edge Extended Performance synthetic 0W-20 (5.7 qts.) and Ford filter FL10-910S.
Won't post pictures are several here already. Here's my report. Removed the plastic under shield attached with 15 Torx 27 screws into metal clips. Used variable speed battery ratchet for ease. The oil plug 15mm was on pretty tight. Factory oil filter (smaller than the new replacement filter) was on very tight (as others have reported) came loose using a spider type oil filter wrench (Walmart). Filter and plug easy to reach. Had Mav on front tire ramps. Looking at oil, was darkened but not bad. Consumer reports changes oil in new cars they test at 3,000 miles; seems like good idea for first oil change, to eliminate metal shavings, etc.
Reattached under panel. NOTE: Don't over tighten Torx screws back into their metal clips. Do that by hand.
Checked recall repairs: removal of 4 horizontal louvers in front of radiator, and holes cut into under panel to vent fumes and fluid leaks to reduce potential fire risks. My Ford dealer tech did these repairs just fine.
There you have it. Love my Mav XLT Hybrid, (ordered July. 28, '21, arrived March 14, '22) Lux package, spray in liner, rear window, 360 co-pilot, Area 51. Installed: Weathertech hard tri-fold, Ford body side moldings, window vent visors, Ford mud flaps, Ford floor mats. Also added a USB plug-in module to enable automatic CarPlay. I carry a battery jumper just in case...
