wow can understand why the dealership charges so much! Got to put it up on ramps ( have not used mine in a while as I had a Jeep wrangler for 7 years). The non FX4 as mentioned has 15 torx T30 screws to remove the plastic shield.

I highly recommend getting this tool if you are going to do your first oil change (as mentioned ford way over tightened them!!):
www.amazon.ca/dp/B06XW6K49D/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_VBQNAN58Y2EQ4W6JST1M?fbclid=IwAR3Kfo2dHcGay4mmFWDDJixOW95_9qnbs2CwjdNlO8MQWjxziWnlRW3mfy8

you will need to get a small extension as there is a rubber tube right next to the filter  (see attached pics)

This will allow you to hold the extension with the device in place over the filter while ratcheting. DO NOT use this tool to re-install the filter!!! it will dent it!

make sure your engine is warm that helps removing the filter.

Weird, my filter came off by hand. It was super tight, but no special tool was needed.

I drain mine ‘cold’ after it has been sitting for ~24 hours, that way I know all the oil is actually down in the pan and available to drain, as opposed to still partially up in the heads, block, crank, oil cooler, windage tray, timing set, etc...

Never tried the cold oil idea, but actually makes sense the way you put it.

I always drain after a drive, so the oil is hot or warm. Most manuals recommend warm oil draining. I tend to begin in the morning and let it drain for several hours to get that last drop, from the heads. Finish up in the afternoon. The problem with this method is you lose your train of thought and I ran a Chevy engine without oil for about 2 minutes once. 200,000 + miles on it when that occurred and it is still running strong. Now I put the oil bottle on the engine to remind me to dump it in. Stop laughing......

Unless I am in a hurry like Grease Monkey. Done a few oil changes in 10 minutes or less.
