Ford should at least release a notification asking users not to let the truck idle on cold starts. At least until the fix is released.

LOL,, up north, leaving a car run for 45 minutes to an hour to warm up is very common, been doing it for decades. Also, at -10,,, or worse, some folks will leave the car run for hours while there eating out, having a beer at the bar,, you name it. Here's an common example of a town here in Iowa, hoping folks will shut em off, discouraging local theft, which usually is local kids joy riding, ,,,or cars just taking up space.

Trivia time! Does this maverick have the dreaded melting heat shield or Is it brand new with no use ?

To me, the thing that tells me it's not damaged is that plastic clamp. If it's hot enough to warp metal, it's hot enough to melt plastic, right?

That’s not a hose clamp. It’s a hose protectant sleeve. The “clamp” is only holding the sleeve. That actual hose is either factory crimped or clamped under the pictured “sleeve”.

Yeah my wife is one of those warms up her car a long time and to get the heated seats nice and toasty. In NJ they actually have a law about that. Even on private property.
