you're assuming you've correctly decoded Ford's digit assignments making up the VIN and that each 1 is valid for a retail unit and that they are building them sequentially based on numerical order of VINs from #1 to whatever is the highest you saw reported here instead of assigning blocks of numbers for different purposes. Maybe yes, maybe no- I have no clue or dog in this fight- and am content to wait and see how Ford pulls this off.
It is possible that there could be "blocks of VINs" of some other reason for the sequence to not be straight line. I have, just for fun, looked at about 20 VINs on vehicles now listed by dealers. The VIN number correlates well with what I think is the scheduled build date listed in one of the boxes toward the bottom. Not the date on the very bottom which just shows the latest date the VIN is printed. Small sample but no VIN out of line with the date.

Absolutely, that's how it works! Why would they start at 59,000 ? Besides, like I said, my uncle spent his whole life at Ford and he knows his stuff. You can go to the list on this forum and see the VIN number progression. Remember, members on this forum are just a small percentage of the total number of people who ordered. Again, they do not build them sequentially, the VIN is assigned for scheduling.

That date in the Special Order box is the blend date, not the build date.

For example, my sticker has a blend date of January 4th, and have since received notice my build date was February 12th.

Keep in mind that not all VINs are for US Mavericks. There is also Canada, Mexico, Argentina, and Brazil as markets for this truck. Mavericks are already being shipped to those four markets. Plus there are other South American countries that are about to get the Maverick.

At the current relatively low production rates, they all count. The US is getting the lion's share, but not all.

Note: Only the US and Canada get any Maverick Hybrids, at this time.

How do you figure over 8 months to increase production, at least for 22s? Everything I've seen indicates 22s will be built until late September.
You make a good point - if the goal post doesn't move again. My money is not on that August 24th date. Rather they build orders from 2022 or 2023 the numbers we have seen are for production during the remaining months of 2022.

500 orders / 900 reservations gives us 55.56% reservations to actual orders.

100,000 reservations at 55.56% is 55,555 orders
Ford bragged on 100K reservations in August I think. But they continued to take orders for months after that. So we really have no idea how many they promised to build. It’s all speculation.

I'm not sure that would effect the VIN sequence? There are several members on this forum from Canada. There are about 400 Ford dealers in Canada and from what I understand the VIN only is coded were it is built, not destination.

Here's how my Hybrid XL Velocity Blue went.
Ordered 07/23, got email from Ford that day saying ordered.
12/09 got email from Ford saying build week to be week of 02/07 with VIN also
01/29 got email from Ford saying build week changed to week of 02/21
02/26 got email from Ford saying built!
Salesman has contacted me each day that I've received the email from Ford also.
Salesman was able to provide me with a "full history" report that shows all this plus more, like when it went from built to "Body Company" for the SIBL. (FYI: built, to Body Company and back and to train for shipping all on the same day)
note: Dealer may not want to give the "Full History" report, may be confidential from Ford but see if you can get it.
NOW for the crazy part, I'll sell it for $28K if anyone interested. I want to buy an Escape Hybrid instead....yes...another very long wait for sure.

Correct. My point is not every VIN is destined for the US market. So when you figure out how many might get built, subtract out the Mavericks built for other markets. I estimate that about 12% of overall production for MY 2022 will be shipped to non-US markets.

For example, I'm waiting to get my XL Hybrid scheduled. I'm competing for slots with the Canadian orders. Of course that's not a bad thing, just something to keep in mind in looking at totals, that's all.

Regular Hybrid Escapes are readily available on the lot now at dealers, at least in NE Ohio.

Now, if you want a Plug-In Hybrid Escape, then yes, plan on up to a year to get it, just like a Mustang Mach-E. Both of those are available with huge IRS tax rebates. Regular Hybrid Escapes (nor any other Ford regular Hybrid) do not qualify for any IRS rebates.

My Hybrid Maverick on order is the same build as yours, minus the CoPilot 360 and SIBL. I'll wait for mine - won't pay dealer nor private owner markups. Hope you get the price you are looking for.

Wow, a unicorn!

That gets a $6843 IRS rebate! Wonder how much they are marking it up?

My son's 2022 PHEV Escape is the only one I've ever seen. It has the word "PLUG-IN" in all caps, but in tiny letters, above the "HYBIRID" name on the "HYBRID" badge on the passenger side of the tailgate. Also has the electric socket behind a door on the driver side of the front fender, so two "fillers", one electric and one gas. Drives very smoothly and quietly. Took 9 months to get from order date and he got it at MSRP.

At current production levels, it's not out of the realm of possibility to think it may take 18 months from order to delivery. Sad to say, but it is what it is. I'll likely ride it out as long as I can, as there is no other vehicle that seems as well suited to my needs and the extra time just gives me more opportunity to squirrel away money toward the truck, or save for an alternative vehicle should the need arise.
That's exactly what I am doing. This vehicle fits my needs. Im going to put about $300 worth of parts in my daily driver to keep it going, while saving up extra cash to make my payments a bit cheaper.
