2022 XL Hybrid, June 2022 delivery, 33090 miles with no issues, other than the two possible engine fire recalls, and two TSBs implemented for low-speed grabby brakes and engine shut-off shudders. Last two fixed by the firmware upgrades per the TSBs. Neither was a real issue, just a bit...
I'm 71 and have a 2022 XL Hybrid. Bare bones, with only the trailer hitch as a factory option. Have added the Ford drop-in bed liner, a TruxSport soft bed cover and the front bed floor tie-downs from Ford Parts as accessories. It's now perfect.
Just took a 6000 mile out West trip in it to...
Congrats!
There are a few out there, as I've seen two others, besides mine. I ordered my 2022 on June 15, 2021, delivered June 17, 2022. It has just under 24,000 miles on it now. Other than the airbag recall and the engine fire stuff, plus the grabby brake TSB, it's been rock solid. Base XL...
Wow, thanks for that. Not even a bike rack.
Bottom line, it's never a good idea to ignore what the manufacturer says in the owner's manual.
The Maverick Hybrid is a truck, even though a light duty one, and can work like one, within its limits.
Just because a hitch is available does not mean a vehicle is rated for towing. The towing capacity of a 2022 or 2023 Corolla, per Toyota, is ZERO. That means any sort of sccident while towing is your fault and your insurance will not cover any liability, since you did not follow the...
You forgot one thing. A 2022 or 2023 Toyota Corolla has a tow rating of ZERO, per Toyota. The only thing the hitch is good for is to plug in a bike rack or the like. I have three boats, with the heaviest at 1900 pounds, including boat, motor, trailer and gear. The Maverick Hybrid easily hauls...
Turns out when I registered my Hybrid after delivery, I was not charged the $100. The Maverick Hybrid was not on the list as of late June, 2022. Maybe cars only?
I estimate for 2022 that only about 3600 XL Hybrids will be built and half of those will be fleet vehicles. So, yes, retail XL Hybrids are unicorns. Mine ordered 6/15/2021 and delivered 6/17/2022, with only the trailer hitch as an option. So I figure less than 2000 retail XL Hybrids for 2022 and...
The 2023 Kia Sportage Hybrid has a towing capacity of 1653 pounds with an unbraked trailer, and 2000 pounds with a braked trailer, per the ownerās manual. Almost all small trailers in that range have no brakes. The Maverick Hybrid towing capacity is 2000 pounds, braked or unbraked. That could...
No book, just the facts. Also, this is the base model truck, with only a Ford DIBL as an accessory. So, lighter weight than a more heavily optioned Hybrid.
It was also measured by actual gas used and miles run, not using the dashboard calculated MPG reading.
Just took a 3300 mile trip from Akron, OH to Kansas City, then to Spring Hill, FL, then back to Akron. Averaged 37 MPG, while averaging 70-75 MPH. On one stretch doing 80-85 MPH, mileage dropped to 33 MPG. Very happy with this mileage. I get 40 MPG in mixed driving near home. AC on the whole...
Keep in mind the VIN counts are for ALL countries. About 10% of Mavericks go to Canada, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, and a few other South American countries. The US gets the other 90%. Not sold outside of North and South America.
Iāll bet the letter before the 02 is a B, rather than an A. There have been other B02XXX VINs posted here. Rolling over to the second hundred thousand.
I did not think that would happen, but with the 2022 production extension, it looks like it is.
ā49 Fords. I remember my dad telling me when I was a kid that ā49 Fords had a lot of problems when they first came out. My mom had one assigned to her by the city when she was a public health nurse, and it was always in the shop getting things fixed. 1949 was first newly designed Ford car...
I just read that, too. Youāre likely right - cut and paste error.
Good news is those still waiting on their order to be built likely wonāt have this nor the lower engine shield/grill shutter mods to worry about. Iāve had problems with recalls on Toyotas and Hondas, too. My 2005 Honda Odyssey...
You may well be right. Weāll have to see. If only another $1000, that would bring it to about the same as a 2023 Honda Civic LX. I personally think the 2022 Maverick was way underpriced at launch.
