I test drove a Santa Cruz last month and considered purchasing one. The main reasons I didn't:
I couldn't justify the price tag for the trim with options I wanted. If I wanted a 40K truck, I'd get a Ranger or something larger.
I didn't like the visibility behind or on the right
Cupholders on rear doors are tiny and not suited for kids drinks. No cupholders in the rear center to compensate for this either.
I opted for a Hybrid Tuscon at the same price point.
