The pre-runner model is great. SImplicty and a truck you can do tasks with.
I realized it's my 2006 Ranger yardtruck...but with power windows and locks. And crusie control...which I really miss.
Well...that "660 lb" thing has been throughly debunked since last September....But it lives on.
Below,,,for example, TFL hauls a 900 lb bale in the SC
I
As the owner of a 2006 Ranger-I feel your pain.
Was absolutely going to order a 2023 ecoboost Lariat..then the recalls came down in multiples. Ugh.
Went back to Santa Cruz forum. Lots of catastrophic transmission issues. (Mainly DCT.) But both versions have a terrifying propensity to lose...
No. I would not.
The infrastructure for charging is not there. And the shaky condition of our power grid makes me question their future reliability.
Rolling blackouts anyone?
Maybe they can patent their own "Multiflex" tailgate.
Honda"s GM's and Ram's are quite cool. Great on full size trucks, but even Maverick could benefit from a tailgate that allows less bending to load/unload the bed.
My. So angry. And ignorant.
The false load floor limit was from a PR flack trying to work out allowable bed load assuming 4 passengers. Do some reading rather than venting.
I notice you skated over Ford’s inexcusable omission of stake pockets.
Wise of you: the omission was indefensible. Having...
The 600+lb in the bed thing has been exhaustivly debunked. It was a miscommuication by a Hyundai PR flak last August.
As for bed usability-hey Ford-where are the bed steps, the stake pockets and the dampened tailgate??
Seriously, you have built trucks for 100 years.
You can't put these things...
Ha. My 2006 Ranger yardtruck is parked under our carport as I write. Loaded with topsoil.)
Got it 4 years ago.. was a .one owner garage kept. Flawless body.
It has 65k miles on it now.
Never a problem.
I saw on a video that 2006 Ranger was one of the most trouble free trucks sold over the last...
😊Sorry. I had computed two different things on my iPhone and then absent mindedly used the number from the other calculation.
It’s $.23 per mile.
But I bet that other engine would be fast.
Interesting thread. I am still kind of betwixt and between. But I think in August I will order a Lariat Hybrid . The owner experiences I have read have been very impressive.
Just computed today-at current prices I burn a dollar of gas every mile in my and Sienna.
Intend to order in August.
So today I was backing up our steep driveway with 500 lbs. of topsoil in the back and wondered...how does the hybrid do when reversing under load?
I know it doesn’t have reverse gear.
You are right...
As I read the article, I began to think...."this guy has lived in apartments/condos/gated communities all his life, thinks lawn care is calling the chairman of the grounds committee and has never gardened."
Today, in fact, I and my 2006 Ranger are heading to Home Depot for...
Iess tech means less problems. E.g. The Subaru Ascent (Their biggest car with high $$$) has lots of tech issues. But their little, simpler Crosstrek has great reliability.
That’s not accurate...they are different vehicles. One is car-like truck and one is truck-like car.
At least that’s what it seems like.
J.D. Power just dealer brands by customer service. Hyundai was one up from the bottom...just ahead of Chrysler.
Ford was middle of the pack.
Having said...
I think I understand your concern. Times like these create uncertainty.
But if you look at the purchase as having broader and greater importance than mpg the outlay will make more sense:
1. Will it give you a new physical comfort you need/desire?
2. Maybe the Maverick will allow you to pursue...
