Ford isn't the only one with design issues on the doors. I have a 2022 Tuscon and the only cup holders worth a damn are the ones in the center console and in the rear fold-down arm rest with holders.
The door cup holders in the Tuscon are at an angle and only work for bottles with tight fitting...
There are probably 2 things that would make me get rid of my Mav Hybrid:
- Someone offering me $45K
- An electric version
Since I got my Mav, I've gone more than 30 miles from my house once (that was 200 miles away to Indianapolis for the Indy 500).
A small EV truck for ~$30K would be ideal.
I like my Mav (XLT Hybrid) and it's exactly the truck I need for me and my family. That said, I think it's worth the $26K I paid for it, not $40K like some are trying to sell them for. I'd have a hard time justifying the purchase when there are nicer and more comfortable vehicles out there for...
Thanks for the replies. I went out and checked the truck.
The issue, is in fact the actual width of the tailgate opening, not the wheel wells themselves.
Happens to me from time to time as well (including today when I was pulling into a parking spot). It happens in very low speeds, such as traffic at red lights, or in parking lots. Doesn't always happen, but it can happen.
The sheets definitely aren't 56" wide.
This is the panel I bought:

The product spec says 48.56" wide, but there's a tiny bit of...
I agree. a sheet of plywood fits fine. But the < 3/4" clearance can cause issues with other 4x8 sheets.
I don't want a full size truck, but 49" of space would be nice. :)
I'm in the process of building a chicken coop and I bought some 4x8 siding to use on it.
However, with the spray in bed liner, the siding wouldn't lay flat in on the wheel wells as expected.
Some 4x8 panels (like sidings and tounge & groove subfloor) have an extra 1/2" to 3/4" of material for...
One thing which hasn't been mentioned in shortages is screens.
I would assume Ford used a screen which they are able to produce quickly and cheaply. The same screen has been used in a number of Ford vehicles for years. My dad's F-150 (2016?) has the 8" screen, my 2018 Transit had one and so did...
I noticed this as well. A 7-pin connector is only for towing >3000 lbs, which the hybrid currently will not do. I'm not saying it's impossible for the Hybrid to get the 4K tow package, but based on the other off-road type items pointed out by people in this thread, I assume this is an EB with an...
I appreciate the detailed information.
I'm considering building a teardrop, with a pretty primitive kitchen (A cooler and propane burner will suit our needs).
My goal is to minimize the amount of electrical running through it, have a small place to prep some food, and have room for 2 adults and...
The combination of hybrid, price, 4 doors, and being a truck made the Maverick pretty much a no brainer for me.
If hyrbid wasn't an option, I may have gone with a Santa Cruz or not changed vehicles at all, but the Maverick has a huge advantage with the hybrid option.
EDIT:
To me, comparing the...
Thanks! Yeah, I'm typically not putting 200K miles on my vehicles before I move on. But, ditching my Titan was a no-brainer.
There are the other ancillary and unpredictable costs around any vehicle, because repairs can be a matter of luck, in some cases.
My insurance actually went down when I...
