From this morning.

SUMMARY
There is no denying that the excitement and demand for the All-New Ford Maverick truck has been
tremendous. The 2022 North American Truck of the Year has been a huge hit with customers, with many
still waiting on updates regarding the status of their retail orders. The combination of incredibly strong
retail order demand and unprecedented supply chain issues has created a number of capacity constraints
that have prolonged our ability to schedule many of these retail orders for production. These constraints
will require some customers to have to either modify their existing 2022 model year retail order, or wait to
place a 2023 model year retail order when the Maverick order bank re-opens this summer.

RETAIL ORDER SCHEDULING CRITERIA
While Ford still plans to produce a limited number of 2022 model year Mavericks for dealer stock
inventory, the priority for remaining production will go to unscheduled Maverick retail orders based on the
date they were submitted by the customer’s Ford dealership, vehicle model and configuration selected,
part availability, and the number of vehicles the customer’s Ford dealership receives:

1. Retail order receipt date (oldest retail orders scheduled first)
2. Vehicle model and configuration selected relative to capacity constraints on these specific
optional features and packages:
• Co-Pilot360 package (optional on XL, XLT, and Lariat trims)
• XLT Luxury package (optional on XLT trim)
• Lariat Luxury package (optional on Lariat trim; requires Co-Pilot360 package)
• Spray-In Bedliner (optional on XL, XLT, and Lariat trims; included in Lariat Luxury package)
• Cargo Management System (optional on XL, XLT, and Lariat trims; included in XLT & Lariat Luxury
packages)
• Bed Extender (optional on XL, XLT, and Lariat trims)
• Bed Tray (optional on XL, XLT, and Lariat trims)
• Hard Trifold Tonneau Cover (optional on XL, XLT, and Lariat trims)
3. Retail order verification completed by the Ford dealership
• A required step by the Ford dealership for retail order scheduling is to complete the Customer
Order Verification Process (COVP) which authenticates and approves the retail order.
4. Dealer Allocation based on Approved Market Basket Formula

RETAIL ORDER CUSTOMER OPTIONS
With expectations of these unprecedented supply chain issues continuing, we would ask all of our Ford
dealers that have customers with retail orders including the optional features and packages listed above
to contact their customers and review the options available to them:
1. The customer can work with their Ford dealer to make amendments to their 2022 model year
retail order (i.e. remove constrained features or option packages), dramatically improving the
opportunity for it to be scheduled for production this year.
• Memo: Please note that we recommend against any changes to the retail order’s body code
or PEP code (e.g. Lariat to XLT) as this will also change the receipt date of the order.
2. The customer can continue to wait for their 2022 model year retail order to schedule within the
capacity constrained levels. If the order is unable to be scheduled in the 2022 model year the
customer would need to work with their Ford dealer to convert their retail order to a 2023 model
year order when the retail order bank re-opens this summer.

Dealer Letter Template
RETAIL ORDER AMENDMENT RECOMMENDATIONS
For those retail orders that have been delayed due to capacity constraints on the optional features and
packages listed above, please find the recommended order changes below.
Order Combination Recommended Change

1 Spray-In Bedliner without XLT/Lariat Luxury Package Remove Spray-In Bedliner
2 Hard Tri-Fold Tonneau Cover w/o XLT or Lariat Luxury Package Remove Tonneau Cover
3 Cargo Management System w/o XLT or Lariat Luxury Package Remove Cargo Management System
4 Bed Extender w/o XLT or Lariat Luxury Package Remove Bed Extender
5 Bed Tray w/o XLT or Lariat Luxury Package Remove Bed Tray
6 Co-Pilot360 w/o XLT or Lariat Luxury Package Remove Co-Pilot360
7 XLT Luxury Package w/o Co-Pilot360 Remove XLT Luxury Package
8 Co-Pilot360 w/o Lariat Luxury Package Remove Co-Pilot360
9 Lariat Luxury Package Remove Lariat Lux Package but keep Co-Pilot360
10 Lariat Luxury Package Remove Lariat Lux Package and Co-Pilot360

We understand that customers who placed a retail order are frustrated with continuing to wait for news on
the status of their order, which is why we are looking for our Ford dealers to support by advising their
customers of their options. It is extremely important that our retail order customers understand their
options and are given the choice of how they would like to proceed before any changes are made to their
order.
Thank you in advance for your support.
My Ecoboost XLT AWD with towing package hasn't any of these restrictions. My order was placed with SIBL but dealer told me that would be done at Bullet near dealer.

How do you find out if your dealership has any allocations???
You have to ask your salesman who will probably have to ask their manager

We just got ā€œThe Callā€ from our dealer. According to them they don’t have any chipsets for CP360, Though I don’t know how they would know that. The only packages we added were CP360 and FX4. We dropped it cause at the end of the day the only useful thing we gain from CP360 is blind spot monitoring. And a $20 set of mirrors from amazon will do the same thing.

Am I the only one that feels overcharged for CP360 anyways? We’ve owned two Subarus that had way more tech than CP360 would get you and for way less price. Fingers crossed we see our MAV by the end of the year!

I have a theory that a spreadsheet jockey at Ford crunched all the numbers and found that XLT+LUX+CP360 is a magic combination that maximizes profit for Ford, given the parts constraints they are facing. Without the two of them combined, Ford's better off building a plain XLT because it's easier to schedule.

But I could be, and most likely am, wrong.

i donā€˜t know what to do. From the memo, it seemed like the XLT+Lux+CP360 is not a constrained combo.

The allocation thing is the ONLY reason I am irritated. I can understand the rest of it. I'm a project planner and do ordering and work orders. I get it. (244 days since order btw)
Exactly! Yet, we keep getting this bs from Ford about this constraint or that constraint and they just fail to address the basic issue of the allocation system! Plus, Ford has said they want to move to this way of ordering cars for the future, well if this going to happen then people will be forced to order from big dealerships, which means long wait times, farther travel for service since this sales model will start pushing out the smaller dealership because they can't allocations. You would think after the disaster the Bronco ordering turned out to be there would have been an overhaul of the ordering system!

Ugh. I'm confused because this thread is going viral and my dealership's GM, new car manager, Fleet manager who handles order units and salesman ALL said they have NOT received this email from from Ford. It is an extremely large dealership with one of the highest allocations around. Could their orders possibly be exempt? (Hoping and wishing)
Not likely since the memo was addressed to all dealerships. They could also be denying they haven't received. If you read enough post where people state they've talked to their dealership/salesperson you quickly get a sense that there's a lot of mis-information coming out of the various dealerships.

Ask your salesperson and if they don't know or won't tell you then ask for their manager, keep going until you get the information.

Hot damn!
Just received a call from my dealer..... waited for the "can you drop something from your order" conversation, but instead it was "Your maverick is now confirmed for build 2nd week of March". Was NOT expecting that! :)

First post here. I appreciate all the advice. I'm a very late order so not expecting anything for a long time and NOT complaining about the wait (Even if it's longer than the four months ;) the sales guy predicted.)

But after reading this thread I went to my dealer to check on my Lariat Lux Ecoboost order. Sales guy was not there, but sales manager had given me his card and told me to ask for him if I ever had questions. So I told them I just wanted to check on my order, where I stood in their allocation and if they had advice regarding this week's FMC notice.

At first, I was told the sales manager would be with me shortly, that he was just finishing up. As I sat and waited the receptionist came back and told me that the GM says FMC closes at 5 (it was 5:40 .. almost 3 1/2 hours before closing) and I could leave a number. And get lost.

So now I wonder how Ford sells cars at all on the West Coast because apparently their computers go dead at 2 p.m. local time. And it's worse in Alaska and Hawaii!

That means it was scheduled like a month ago. Wonder why you weren't told?

Allocations? Fine. That's ford's prerogative, I guess.

So here's what I propose. When you spec your truck online, it pops up a page to let you select your dealer. Each dealer has a statistic x orders placed and y total allocations. Done. Now we know what we are getting into and Ford preserves their anachronistic allocation system.

I did get the a scheduled call as well.... and had been tracking it on the Ford.com, but it had only been shown as "ordered confirmed". The US tracking now forwards to a non-existing Canadian tracking site. Ford.ca 1-800 contact could only see "ordered confirmed". So the dealer is my only contact for getting real updates.

Glad I got mine . maybe the 22 will become collector item since so few made .
And maybe any 2022 First Editions that don't get built will be converted to slightly less coveted 2023 Second Editions.
checked ford dealer inventory site, my area, 5 hybrids just arrived (dealer stock orders i think based on order #'s).
zero copilot 360 options
Good! Save the CP360 for those of us who ordered it!
