Form the Memo:
"While Ford still plans to produce a limited number of 2022 model year Mavericks for dealer stock inventory, the priority for remaining production will go to unscheduled Maverick retail orders based on the date they were submitted by the customer’s Ford dealership, vehicle model and configuration selected, part availability, and the number of vehicles the customer’s Ford dealership receives"

And Ford wonders why so many folks are pissed off. Weren't we told "Retail Orders Only"? Exactly how many "Limited" dealer stock Mavericks is Ford going to build using the very parts they are asking paying customers to sacrifice. Will it be hundreds, thousands, and what models with what options? Does anyone think there won't be some Lariat Hybrids with the Luxury Package in the "Limited" lot? We already know dealers like Long McArthur will be getting their share and as Tim said, the Dealership doesn't feel bad about charging $5,000 - $7,500 over MSRP - I'll let the members decide how they feel about that. Not sure why but I noticed when Tim read the entire Memo he left out the entire paragraph above, nor did he discuss it. I hope Tim sets aside some time in his next video to address this issue. I realize he isn't Ford and didn't draft that memo. Tim has devoted so much of his time to the Maverick Truck folks and by all means he's help many of us.

Correction: Tim only skipped - "While Ford still plans to produce a limited number of 2022 model year Mavericks for dealer stock inventory . . . . .
That is one thing that I can't believe that Ford had the nerve to put that in the release, how they plan to still make a "limited" amount of Mavericks for Dealer stock! Yet, they want us, the customers who have already signed up and said YES we want a Maverick, they want us to remove items from our orders so we MAY get orders built?! Really?! How about instead you don't build any dealer stock until ALL retail orders are built!

Does anyone know when the May scheduling chart will be released?
During last week ("week of 2/14"), they were scheduling for the week of April 18th. So presuming they do scheduling next week, it'll likely be for week of 25 Apr.

They have generally scheduled for one week at a time, but sometimes for 2 weeks, so the scheduling for May production dates should start in roughly early March.

Ugh. I'm confused because this thread is going viral and my dealership's GM, new car manager, Fleet manager who handles order units and salesman ALL said they have NOT received this email from from Ford. It is an extremely large dealership with one of the highest allocations around. Could their orders possibly be exempt? (Hoping and wishing)

Didn’t you read the original letter. It said changing the trim level, e.g, XLT to XL, changes the order date so you move to the back of the line. Of course no salesman would know this detail.
I don't know who to believe, I just finished a CHAT with customer service at Ford.com. I changed my XLT to an XL, but did NOT lose my place (order date) in line.

I just got the email from the new vehicle sales manager at my local dealer, doesn't really matter given that I just caved and bought a 2021 Ranger with 9300 miles that fits my needs and will be canceling my order.

From this morning.

SUMMARY
There is no denying that the excitement and demand for the All-New Ford Maverick truck has been
tremendous. The 2022 North American Truck of the Year has been a huge hit with customers, with many
still waiting on updates regarding the status of their retail orders. The combination of incredibly strong
retail order demand and unprecedented supply chain issues has created a number of capacity constraints
that have prolonged our ability to schedule many of these retail orders for production. These constraints
will require some customers to have to either modify their existing 2022 model year retail order, or wait to
place a 2023 model year retail order when the Maverick order bank re-opens this summer.

RETAIL ORDER SCHEDULING CRITERIA
While Ford still plans to produce a limited number of 2022 model year Mavericks for dealer stock
inventory, the priority for remaining production will go to unscheduled Maverick retail orders based on the
date they were submitted by the customer’s Ford dealership, vehicle model and configuration selected,
part availability, and the number of vehicles the customer’s Ford dealership receives:

1. Retail order receipt date (oldest retail orders scheduled first)
2. Vehicle model and configuration selected relative to capacity constraints on these specific
optional features and packages:
• Co-Pilot360 package (optional on XL, XLT, and Lariat trims)
• XLT Luxury package (optional on XLT trim)
• Lariat Luxury package (optional on Lariat trim; requires Co-Pilot360 package)
• Spray-In Bedliner (optional on XL, XLT, and Lariat trims; included in Lariat Luxury package)
• Cargo Management System (optional on XL, XLT, and Lariat trims; included in XLT & Lariat Luxury
packages)
• Bed Extender (optional on XL, XLT, and Lariat trims)
• Bed Tray (optional on XL, XLT, and Lariat trims)
• Hard Trifold Tonneau Cover (optional on XL, XLT, and Lariat trims)
3. Retail order verification completed by the Ford dealership
• A required step by the Ford dealership for retail order scheduling is to complete the Customer
Order Verification Process (COVP) which authenticates and approves the retail order.
4. Dealer Allocation based on Approved Market Basket Formula

RETAIL ORDER CUSTOMER OPTIONS
With expectations of these unprecedented supply chain issues continuing, we would ask all of our Ford
dealers that have customers with retail orders including the optional features and packages listed above
to contact their customers and review the options available to them:
1. The customer can work with their Ford dealer to make amendments to their 2022 model year
retail order (i.e. remove constrained features or option packages), dramatically improving the
opportunity for it to be scheduled for production this year.
• Memo: Please note that we recommend against any changes to the retail order’s body code
or PEP code (e.g. Lariat to XLT) as this will also change the receipt date of the order.
2. The customer can continue to wait for their 2022 model year retail order to schedule within the
capacity constrained levels. If the order is unable to be scheduled in the 2022 model year the
customer would need to work with their Ford dealer to convert their retail order to a 2023 model
year order when the retail order bank re-opens this summer.

Dealer Letter Template
RETAIL ORDER AMENDMENT RECOMMENDATIONS
For those retail orders that have been delayed due to capacity constraints on the optional features and
packages listed above, please find the recommended order changes below.
Order Combination Recommended Change

1 Spray-In Bedliner without XLT/Lariat Luxury Package Remove Spray-In Bedliner
2 Hard Tri-Fold Tonneau Cover w/o XLT or Lariat Luxury Package Remove Tonneau Cover
3 Cargo Management System w/o XLT or Lariat Luxury Package Remove Cargo Management System
4 Bed Extender w/o XLT or Lariat Luxury Package Remove Bed Extender
5 Bed Tray w/o XLT or Lariat Luxury Package Remove Bed Tray
6 Co-Pilot360 w/o XLT or Lariat Luxury Package Remove Co-Pilot360
7 XLT Luxury Package w/o Co-Pilot360 Remove XLT Luxury Package
8 Co-Pilot360 w/o Lariat Luxury Package Remove Co-Pilot360
9 Lariat Luxury Package Remove Lariat Lux Package but keep Co-Pilot360
10 Lariat Luxury Package Remove Lariat Lux Package and Co-Pilot360

We understand that customers who placed a retail order are frustrated with continuing to wait for news on
the status of their order, which is why we are looking for our Ford dealers to support by advising their
customers of their options. It is extremely important that our retail order customers understand their
options and are given the choice of how they would like to proceed before any changes are made to their
order.
Thank you in advance for your support.
Does this mean I have to order MY23 if I don't get MY22? this is ridiculous. I have been waiting since June with only the spray in bedliner added to my XLT. I have lost all confidence in FORD. Our family has been a Ford family for years with family working for Ford........I just want my truck!!!

I’m still unscheduled. My question to the dealer would be if I become a ‘23. Will my price still be honored? Wondering if this would be determined by Ford or the dealerships.

Ford gave price protection to people who ordered a Bronco and got carried over to the next model year, I don't see why they wouldn't do the same and Tim Bartz even seems to think they will give you price protection.

He is not looking too hard, it is on the front page of FMCDealer.

There's no point in the dealer contacting me. In the Fall I ordered the XL with spray lining and 360, two important features for me. Plus it's missing cruise control and rear defroster. Screw Ford and my dealer. My next vehicle will be GM or Toyota. I put up with the Fiesta and Focus crap transmissions and finally moved into a Fusion. I test drove an XLT Lariat that sold to someone else because of a bidding war at the dealer. The point of the canceled orders is to get you into the $35k units. Not me, that's bait and switch. I hope someone with deep pockets sues Ford out of business.

Might not help. My XL Hybrid only has the trailer hitch as an option. Ordered June 17, 2021 and still not scheduled. Dealer is a medium-sized suburban Akron, OH dealer. They had only gotten 5 Mavericks delivered so far.

It appears that I may be in category #7, with an order for an XLT Luxury package but without the Co-Pilot360.

What I fail to understand is that if there is a chip shortage, and Co-Pilot360 consumes too many chips, why would Ford prioritize building trucks that have the XLT Luxury package AND Co-Pilot360 over the ones that don't? That does not seem logical.
i’m in the same boat ($500 deposit, early July order), but received an email from my dealer today mentioning that I should get rid of the Lux package. I emailed back asking if I can add CP360 instead. i really didn’t care much for the CP360, but liked all, the add ons the LUX package included, so I do not want to drop that.

update:
got an email back, he says ”All of those are constraints so you’d have to remove them all unfortunately.”

i don‘t know what to do. From the memo, it seemed like the XLT+Lux+CP360 is not a constrained combo.

last update:
i asked the sales guy for his opinion and sales guy said he would not change the order and wait it out and place a MY23 order when the window opens if my MY22 does not get scheduled. That was pretty much what I was planning on doing.

I never even wanted the stupid copilot 360, but I do want a sliding rear window and full size spare. Stupid package constraints.

Yea I'm hoping my August order gets going. For some reason they still seem to keep saying that dropping my bed extender will push back my order - when this email clearly says it can only help.
I tried dropping a bed cover 7 weeks back and got the same response. I was hopeful they would have figured this out by now...
I'll try again next week and now that the memo is out.
