Ford told me yesterday that the reason new order 2023s are getting built ahead of similarly equipped rollovers is allocations.
So that talk of prioritizing those of us who ordered months and months ago was pure FMC B.S.
Yeah, my dealer which was offering MSRP on my 2022 order is no longer committing to it for re-orders.
Is it possible to change dealers after re-orders?
CRC got my dealer GM on conference call Thursday and I was told opposite 1) orders do roll, and 2) to change dealers I would need to cancel and reorder... and lose priority and private offers.
So in February, Ford sends a note to dealers telling them to contact customers about these issues.
Some apparently did. Many (including mine) did not.
At least FMC acknowledges the overall failings of Ford dealers.
BTW, did anyone get the new email yet?
Yeah, I asked for phone call and was asked if I wanted to "transfer my order," which BTW is not possible. I'm patient about the wait, but can't believe the lack of communication and disdain for the customers.
So given the change in communicating, Ford advised me last week that there had been "a change" to my order on March 21 and to call back later for details.
So this week I call to check on that and see if I have at least a VIN. I was told there were no changes made March 21.
Ford's communication...

Had not heard of that before ... perhaps a small step...
I see a Jeep in your profile. We moved from Duluth to Alaska in November 1984 in a mid-'70s Cherokee. Great trip.
The OP's post and yours bring back a lot of memories, including Jeep repairs in Edmonton and a dog running into the woods who knows where. By a pure stroke of luck the Montreal...
Two points:
1) Jalopnik and its related ilk from the parent company are crap. They used to have some talent, but these current folks are not even the B team anymore. It's unreadable. I don't might a little snark once in a while, but there's no substance at all. There is responsible reporting...
Never whined about the wait . That's OK. But I think that Ford's handling of this will be part of case studies for communications/PR majors for a while. FMC's not alone in this mess, but the prospect of how they handle PR for a hot new product amid all these global challenges make them a...
