Sell the truck instead of getting a good $200 battery? I've had mine for nearly 2 years, excepting the deep sleep thing (which just cropped up after they did the 12v cable fix) its been great!. I bought a lith-ion charger, put it under the back seat just in case. And I'll keep the dealer...
Gotta say.... I've had mine for 1.5 years, its been pretty reliable. The only thing that I've been taking it in for is Oil changes and recalls (preventative fixes). I've been very happy with it.
I ended up drilling 2 of the weep holes with a step bit and then putting some rust enamel paint on the edges of the metal (and underneath with my finger).... then feeding the tubes straight down.
Also to note, I replaced the retrax tubes with silicone tubing, much more flexible.
Never thought about that! (Extreme heat impacting fuel economy too)... not as severe as mine. We get like 5 months of anywhere from 0 to -40c so heating the cab + the battery just doesn't perform well in the cold.
On the postive, at least with a hybrid theres no range anxiety due to the temps!
Mine is just over a year old as well. I had the brake TSB fix done, having less clunking/grabbing that prior to this, but it still is. Very strange, something to do with the transition from ICE to Charging to Electric?
My fuel efficiency was down to about 30mpg during the winter and has...
I'm still waiting on my hitch from my Maverick received last April (removed from order to expedite). Its an odd constraint imo, its basically just metal bars welded together!
I've got the same retrax cover. Love the cover, but the drainage has been problematic.... I've been thinking the same thing about drilling a couple holes, either lower than the existing plugs or in the bed itself. Haven't done it because I don't know whats behind various places in the bed!
So...
Bookmarked this to see progress. That engine just ain't right...
So far my only gripes in cold weather have been severely impacted fuel consumption, hoping this engine issue does not appear.
Mine declined after the recall fix too... but it has been substatially colder. And like others snow tires are on. As Jsus noted these are relatively minor changes and highly unlikely its related to the decline. That said I'm reserving a final call on this until next summer, when I can see if my...
This is my 1st Ford product (ever).... I'm very happy with it. My dealer has been exceptional in addressing the couple of very minor issues I've had. My Mav, the build quality has been very good... really the only thing I have not been happy with was the scratchablility of the plastics. But for...
In the particular situation I was in, I could have managed the forward movement in the snow much better than the truck did. In the Slippery mode and Stability control on... it was like I was completely paused on the turn and was a hazard to oncoming traffic.
So yesterday, first time out in a decent snowfall. I was getting the stability control indicator flashing, so I put the truck into Slippery mode. Stopped at a corner for a RH turn... when I was proceeding the vehicle would not respond to the gas pedal. It felt like I was stuck and the throttle...
My thoughts as well. In my case clashes have been with sales, not service. When I arrive for service its like the Texaco gas station in Back to the Future... they swarm the vehicle, and its off to the service bay, comes back freshly washed and ready to go as promised.
Still holding my breath...
My latest fill clocked in at;
L/100km MPG
7.5 31.6
This is my 1st winter with the truck.... and we haven't even hit the coldest months! I expected a natural hit due to the cabin heater and the truck warming itself... but not quite this much!
Unusual or Typical?
EDIT...
I have a block of dense foam on the wall I park against. It was from a kayak roof rack set. So once the Mav settles against that I put on the parking brake and I'm set.
I have it about even with the Ford emblem.
