I hope you're joking. With the number of outstanding Maverick orders now, that would mean their Production numbers would have to plummet to 1/8th of what they are now to stretch it out 3 additional model years.
A part of me yes, but with all of the constraints, and allowing more orders to come in than they can handle, realistically 2024, I think will be the last push out if they open up for new orders later this year.

I guess I should apologize for sounding like a negative person toward Ford. But after 35 years with the company, when ever we had rah rah meeting it was, Our green initiatives are being well received by the press and government agency's. We are ahead of the curve as it pertains to government guidance toward minority hiring, promotions and out sourcing of contracts to minority owned business.

Never was there a smidgeon of thought given to, Oh and by the way we are having production issues at Assembly plant X. The customers are upset with not getting their vehicles. Find out whats wrong I want a report in 72 hours. Fix this problem Our customers are number 1 priority.

Any way I feel sad with the issues surrounding the limited availability of Mavericks.

If Ford had not cancelled their orders for millions upon millions of chips as the start of covid. Ford would be in a different spot right now. Someone thought they were being pro-active. I’m sure they got promoted to VP by now.

Well, I am a patient person.
I really don't understand how this lack of chip thing came about...there is something we aren't being told.
If I do finally get my Maverick with most of the bugs finally sifted out, I'll have pleasant smile on my face I hope...one of these days.
Bless those that are getting theirs....
Ride those Mavericks folks and Enjoy!

They closed the ordering way early to make sure they did not overcommit the Model Year. They plan to build them all, except for some that they will not be able to source all the parts that are constrained. They have tons of factory capacity. It's just a parts issue. And the ones that don't make it this MY, they will be built when those parts become available.

And expect changes to packages next year if they are still forecasting constrained parts/chips. Like SIBL and CP360, etc.

I haven't ordered one yet. And I'm happy I didn't. I found out about the Maverick after Ford shut down ordering. Based on what I'm reading in these posts, I'm starting to think buying a new car right now or in 2023 is more work and frustrating than it's worth. Maybe 2024 will be better. I should be able to get another 30K-45K on my 2002 4runner that has 295,000 miles on it.
I daily a 92 Wrangler 4.0. she already ate into my down payment money by needing a transmission rebuild, new clutch and new flywheel. Thankfully passed smog today. She needs a full suspension rebuild and I can't until I get my Maverick.

So that you are saying :
Abandon hope all ye who Order a Maverick

I figure that most who ordered who have not been scheduled will be pushed to 2023 /2024/ 2025.
I hope not. 🤞

Not that much to it. Ford expected orders to tank when COVID shut the world down and since they don't stockpile more than they need they canceled chip orders. But, orders didn't tank nearly as much as expected and Ford had to go to the back of the line at chip fabs. Automobiles use fairly basic chips that don't have much profit in them for chipmakers. Chipmakers are focusing on computers, phones, and gadgets for the millions now working from home. The world consolidated chip production into just a handful of fabs, so there's nowhere else for Ford to go. They have a deal with GlobalFoundries to make chips, but it'll take years before the plant produces anything.

It's just a case of shortsightedness by Ford, profit seeking by chipmakers, a global pandemic interrupting business as usual, and millions of people setting up offices in their houses.

Sorry for the possible dumb question… but does this affect me? I received a scheduled build email for 2/28/22
No it does not. It only affects orders that have not been scheduled.

I hate to break it to ya, but being at Priority 2 doesn't mean anything if your dealership doesn't have allocations. Myself and many other members have spent weeks, even months at P2 with no build date. So not trying to rain on your parade, just try to keep your hope levels in check, it could be a long and bumpy ride. Might I suggest you check out the meme thread for entertainment while you wait. 😁
Can confirm, I’ve been at priority code 02 since October… don’t hold your breath and you may make it through this in one piece.

I get it. Early July xlt hybrid lux. Been priority 2 for a couple of months…nothing so far. Don’t mind the wait because of supply chain issues…do get a little frustrated to read of identical vehicles ordered later being delivered already.

Mine was also supposedly built on 1/30 and I received the dreaded email last night pushing back my delivery to 3/23/2022. Here's the thread to the details. I'm guessing another recall is in the works.

Not really. This is about not scheduling next week. It doesn't mean they aren't building next week.
