What does that off road menu show when you check it?
Tilt and incline angle. I'm assuming it's for those journalist test days where the truck drives up a steep slope and they can show off how it's pretty steep. My forester had the same thing...basically zero practical use.

I also assume it works with and without hill descent control enabled.

Yes it's separate and can be left on all the time if desired.
Thanks. It is something I will look into and see if it can be enabled on a nonFX4 package next.

The only thing I saw consistently different on the IPC between FX4 and non-FX4 is 720-07-02 across both the 4 inch and 6 inch displays. There's also ABS 760-04-03, ABS 760-05-01 and Telematics 754-08-01.

The telematics shouldn't have anything to do with the FX4 package. ABS 760-05-01 gives a configuration error when writing on an XL w/o FX4. The other ABS I think you meant ABS 760-03-04 which is related to HDC. I'd have to check that IPC code to see what it does.

The telematics thing is consistent across about 15 VINS between FX4 and non-FX4. Whether it has anything to do with functionality I have no idea...it's probably just something that identifies the specific vehicle and trim to Ford.

I have modified 760-05-01 before using a specific test version of forscan. It's for selecting the ABS module firmware file, which is matched to an uploaded version of the firmware. As of a month ago these were the known values:

02 - NZ6C-14C602-MAE (Basic?)
05 - NZ6C-14C602-RAE (DECAL-FX4)
06 - NZ6C-14C602-SAE (FX4 OFF-ROAD)

As far as I can tell the 06 firmware is rare and maybe is an early release that wasn't used. The only VIN I could find with it is 3FTTW8E93NRA01412

So that explains what the 760-05-01 address is used for. As of now on a non FX4 package the only option that is known to work is basic.

That 720 IPC setting does nothing by itself. I changed it on mine and no difference in the cluster. With that said it may be part of a sequence of codes to make something work.

The telematics code is identical on an XL w/o FX4 upon checking my stock config.

That VIN interestingly enough corresponds to an 2.0L FWD XL without cruise control. I can tell it is FWD since it doesn't have an AWD module in the as built and cruise control codes in the ABS and BCM are for a base model without CC.

^ also make sure you are using an up-to-date version of Forscan. There was a build late last year that could not write to the ABS module and I had to send my logs in for them to fix it.

Is there an easy mode list of what to do for this or is it hard mode only? Thanks!

Make sure you have your key in the on position or key on and engine running.

Key was on, and engine running. I was able to change the IPMA as built data, as well as changes to get all drive modes enabled. Seems like it only happens when I try to make a change on the IPC module. Tried a new cable last night, same issue. I downloaded the most recent beta of Forscan, and will try that tonight.

If you are still having issues, package up your logs and send to the Forscan team. My experience is they come back with a fix in a couple days pretty consistently (and it will fix it for others too!)
