As I'm sure we all understand, FMC is in the business of building a product to sell that is profitable to the bottom line for the almighty shareholders!

If the quarter is not profitable to a certain level, then the executives and their feeder support team (mid level management, yes people etc) don't get their nice bonuses for their vacations and purchases to keep the wife's and mistresses happy!!

You can be sure with the buying power of FMC, if chips can be acquired, they will be. However, they have to be smart (quarterly earnings in mind) and distro the chips across all of their product lines...Decisions do go into this, like profit margins (most profitable models, demand, mutiny of the customers) etc.

We chose to order an economically priced vehicle so with that comes the understanding, that FMC will definitely deliver the product, but will distribute the chips in a way that makes sense to the bottom line.

We have to understand that we are not the profit margin leaders...so give them time....PLUS we want the company to remain strong so our product can be supported throughout its life with a stable brand! We will get our Mavericks at some point!

Maverick orders are like watching your 401k...don't check it daily...or you'll go crazy....check it quarterly... :D and hopefully the Maverick email will come like a surprise one day!

Thanks for reading my rant...it helps me to remember what I preach too... LOL
Whew!!! There are a few voices of reason on this Forum!

The issue is about constraints of raw materials nothing else. If there were no constraints at least 50 % of the conversations on the forum would never have happened. including this one. IMHO!!!
There would be no conversations about management of the pandemic response if there was no coronavirus.

I don't know it you are being snarky or not, but the majority of the people complaining seem to have forgotten the totality of the situation we are in.

I'm not sure whether or not it's the majority but you responded to me, and the context of my comments was the general delay from supply shortages is a given.

Then we are on the same page and wish that others would understand the situation we are ALL in....but most do not seem to understand that the supply shortages should affect them personally.

Sometimes trying to be as short as possible we get misunderstood, or our reply leads to a misunderstanding.

Good day sir, hopefully no harm, no foul!!!

Keep in mind the target market for these trucks.
LOL! I understand where you are coming from but unfortunately I don't think the target market has that much of a presence on this forum when you begin to read the totality of the remarks from complaining individuals.

I was just trying to make an analogy but the short response probably did come off as snarky.

Posting as a soul who has complained about the delays, the shift in status expected delivery dates all the way from February to May, I feel fairness dictates I must post again.

The Ford tracking tool has now changed again.

NOW all of a sudden my VIN and order show "Built" status, into "shipping", with expected delivery date middle of March.

Wow!

So, not May after all.

And my promotional coupon that expired in mid-April will still be valid.

Yay!

We'll see. Nothing is certain. But if I'm going to let my mood be set by rumor at all, I choose to be in a GOOD mood, this week.

We still have orders from June, July, August thar still haven't been scheduled. I would say with an October hybrid order you're probably looking at a couple more months before it gets scheduled. Just a guess.

Have you made peace with Facebook? I like the Facebook only because it was a much smaller crowd and easier to ask questions.

Don't assume chip receivables will be 100% fulfilled just by waiting. They will likely trickle in throughout 2022. Many industry analysts predict the bottleneck won't really be relieved until 2023.
Are these the same analysts that said the chip shortage would resolve in 2021, then later in 2021, then the first quarter of 2022, then the second half of 2022? It's not going to get better for the auto industry any time soon. My bet is chips will be in short supply for cars until the new fabs in the US really get going in 2025 or so.
