Did you not actually listen to what he said during the video? or did you just rely on the snippet of what someone else said?

Go and listen to what he had to say.
I did and most of us are hosed.….not that hard to understand.
Supply chain issues continue to be a problem and are not expected to improve until 2023. Ford is like any other company and will focus on profit first. So ask yourself if you were Ford and had supply issues would you apply your resources to the cheap Maverick or one of your other models. Your welcome for the buisness lesson.

I spoke with my dealer yesterday to see if my truck made it out before chips ran out. In production 1/18/2022 and was built on 1/28/2022. It went out for shipment the next day. My dealer did confirm it is not on a chip delay but is at the Mexico border where it crosses into Arizona. Seems it may be stuck on the rail car at customs. Not sure how backed up it is. Anyone else run into this issue? I know a lot of builds that week are delayed due to chips but some have made it out alive.

If anything they chose to focus on Maverick and others. Maverick line wasn't shut down, and would bet all of those modules/chips/scarce parts that would have been used for the shut down plants are redirected to open ones. Makes sense they want to deliver on Mavericks, it's their first model year, it's been great PR for Ford, etc.

This article has some additional info and perspective on the chip shortage. As with most things, it's complicated and there are several variables at play here. Some of this started when automakers lowered their chip orders early in the pandemic because, naturally, they expected to build and sell fewer vehicles. So some of the chip manufacturers shifted their capacity to other chip-dependent products that would continue to sell throughout the pandemic.

I ordered my Lariat Hybrid Lux +co-pilot Hot pepper Red on 7/5/21. sch. for production 1/17/22, then 1/31/22, then sometime in April. Next thing I get an email that my truck was built on 2/8/22, and should be at my dealer (Sarasota Ford) 3/13/22! Looks like Ford is getting the Hybrid orders finally out.

Great to hear that. Mind was similar but now has a ETA of 3/14. I'm in Orlando.

That is how much emotionalism and Ludacris some of the comments that are occurring right now on this website. A few try to bring people back to reality but I wonder if it is working at all sometimes.
Keep in mind the target market for these trucks.

If they already can't build them then whats the difference. They can focus on just the ecos or the bronco sport until they get enough chips in to build the hybrids in bulk again. The employees would still have a job.
I do think they have chips in them as well.

Awesome. My lariat lux hybrid officially went into production with a window sticker Friday. Maybe I'll have it by the end of next month!

Similar situation. Last week my order was put on chip hold after sitting in Production Since December 13th. The estimated delivery date also moved to April 23rd from Feb 23rd… originally January 23rd. This morning I received an email from Ford telling me my maverick has been built and estimated delivery date on March 11th. :) It looks like they are adding the chips to the trucks that have been waiting so that’s a good thing. I’ve been pretty lucky with my order based on others that ordered in June/July. I placed my order on September 23rd, Hybrid, XLT with LUX package, SIBL and manual rear window, Carbonized grey. I didn’t remove anything and I’m glad I held out. Ford should have done a better job with the orders. June/July orders should have been fulfilled first. I’m obviously not complaining but if I ordered my truck in June and others with the same specs are getting produced before me and they ordered months later I would be pissed off. I hope FORD learn from this(but ship my order quickly please)..

The allocation system is bad for any size dealership where customer orders have far exceeded allocations. Ford's allocation system has been "successful" in the past when the business model was to provide dealers with vehicles to sell on their lots. However, the build to customer order model is different, especially for a new model like the Maverick. Ford could have adjusted its allocation formula to take into account (at least to some degree) actual order volume rather than basing a dealer's allocation of Mavericks on how many King Ranch F150s have historically sold off their lot.
The issue is about constraints of raw materials nothing else. If there were no constraints at least 50 % of the conversations on the forum would never have happened. including this one. IMHO!!!
