As soon as the orders open back up I plan on visiting the dealer about a hybrid. This will be my first new vehicle ever, and I'm wanting something nice.

Question is which trim package I go with.

Lowest trim I want to go is the XLT, and then I'd be getting the Lux package. It's only about a $5,400 difference between the XLT Lux and Lariat Lux

That extra $5,400 would get me keyless enter and go, adaptive cruise, power rear window, better stereo (not sure if the B&O is really that much better?), Sync 3 with SiriusXM, upgraded dash screen, wireless charging, and probably some other things I'm missing.

Wife's van has keyless entry/push button start and I absolutely love it. Never owned a truck without some kind of sliding rear window so I want that too. Rest of the stuff I've never had but wouldn't mind. I drive about 60 miles on the highway 5 days a week so the adaptive cruise would be nice.

So to owners of the Lariat trim, do you still feel it's worth it or would you have been just as happy with the XLT?

This thread exists before. Best to search for it since it has a lot of responses and don’t know how many people feel like double posting here. Maybe someone can link it here.

Lariat with lux package here. Totally worth it to me. I'm an older guy and I've already had my share of bare bones vehicles and they were fine when I was younger. Safety features alone make it worthwhile.

Dad's always right. Pretty much the same response for pretty much the same reasons.

A lot would depend on your financial situation and how dear that $5.4K is to you. I think an XLT / Lux is probably the right answer for most cost/benefit questions, but I ordered the Lariet/Lux and would do so again.

I ordered with resale in mind. I decided on the XLT with luxury package and also threw on FX4 and 4k tow. That would still be cheaper than a Lariat luxury package. Generally mid-level trims have better resale value and I think FX4 and 4k tow on a truck would be a better resale. Of course you could always add those two to a Lariat luxury package. I would have liked the adaptive cruise. The FX4 gives you the upgraded productivity screen. I had push button start in my Trax and liked it but it isn't a deal breaker either.

ACC — absolutely awesome. My truck drives itself. In the right conditions.
Intelligent access, push to start — absolutely excellent and feels like it’s in the present year.
B&O sound… ehhhhh… meh, but unless you know a lot about upgrading sound system it’ll be much better than stock, apparently.
Upgraded screen, yes good but only in relative terms to the base model. If you use carplay then it doesn’t offer much except siriusxm
Wireless charger, meh… no wireless carplay. But if you get a wireless carplay dongle it may be more useful. Would be easy to DIY anyway with XL/XLT.
Spray in liner — good but you can also get better with linex or other after delivery so that’s not necessarily a selling point unless you’re getting all the other stuff the lux package already.
Extra safety features — thumbs up from me.
Warm butt warm hands warm mirrors 👍

Anyway, it is absolutely worth it to me personally, even with the mixed bag of usefulness.

I have a second one on order (May never get it), but I have another one on order. His and her’s. We think they are worth the difference.

Lariat Lux owner here. It's worth it to me but I think in terms of value, Lariat base is a better choice. Here're the break downs:
The most important aspect to me is exterior and interior look. It definitely feels more premium than an XLT, yeah I know I am biased but the upgraded look really stands out to me personally. The lariat interior looks much better in person as many have pointed out.
Second, technologies: Integellient access is great, I do enjoy keeping my keys in my bag always and forget about it. ACC is a must if you do highway often, but it definitely feels a bit not so smooth when it accelerates and stops. Heated seats and steering wheel is super convenient as well.
As many have pointed out, B&O is just Okay, do not expect the sound quality of a 50k vehicle even with a loaded lariat.
Another important thing is the acoustic windshield. This is a huge bargain for me as it allows me to feel every beat of the music.
Overall None of these items are something I cannot live without. But I really don't care about the 5k difference from XLT to lariat LUX as Maverick is a great value in every trim, compared to most other vehicle. (Be sure you get the hybrid!)

Yes, for a few key reasons. Lariat is the only trim with auto lumbar support. Cruise control was a must also. Stocks wheels are Meh, but they grow on you.

Yes cruise is a must. Adaptive cruise is something I really want to try out which is what leads me to the Lariat.

Lumbar support is nice, as is heated seats. Even during the summer during long road trips on occasion I'll turn on heated seats to help some with lower back strain from sitting long stretches.

Is the heated seat function back and seat, or just seat? Also does it turn off after a predetermined time or stay on until you turn it off? In my wife's van high stays on for 30 minutes then kicks to low for 15 then off

Ha. Nice of you to say. If true, might be time to head out to the track.
