"Real trucks" like the F-150s that start at 30k and top out well over double that?

So why are so many folks spending money on the Lariat, Platinum, or King Ranch when all they need is a "real truck" in the plain ole XL?
Because they are all purchased with a payment plan, its ONLY a few extra $$ per month, & then a few extra years on that loan, adds up fast. Taking a 20K vehicle & optioning it to nearly double the price defeats the good value of it. For me I NEED cruise control & A/C, I want a radio & an engine with good power. My build came in at under 24K.

Haven't read the thread but stuff like dash vibrations, buzzy engine note, etc. would have bothered me at a higher price point but in my $24.8k no options AWD XL I just shrug that stuff off.

Can someone that has a lariat in hand confirm: does the sliding rear window open all the way or stop just short of creating a full opening? Haven’t seen a video of it completely open and thought that was weird.
13:09 minute mark....almost all the way...

Thanks for taking the time! That’s exactly the video actually that got me questioning it. It’s not a big deal but I’d prefer it to open entirely (like the f150) I had hoped maybe they didn’t open all the way haha

I went with a Lariat because there were some options I wanted that were only available with the Lariat + Lux. It all boils down to what you want (or need). This is the first vehicle where I wanted to really go all out and get what I wanted, not just what I needed. So, Lariat Lux it was...
Man, I did the same thing. I’ve never gone with the top tier with any vehicle I’ve bought. I even went first edition with this one though… and I feel great about the fact the MSRP is still below $33k.

I liked the look and options with the Lariat Lux. It's still many thousands less than a comparable Ranger, and I don't need the additional capabilities of the Ranger.

That is a strictly personal choice.

It was for me. I’ve ordered two and have received one of them. 😁
Weatherman, it doesn't look like anyone has asked you what you're going to do with the second Mav when it comes in, and I'm surprised! So I'll ask, are you going to start a new reality show about flipping new cars??

No. No car flipping. Although I did pretty well with the 2012 F150 I just sold. 😊.

My wife is retiring at the end of this year and we are going to replace her 2014 Nissan Murano.
It has been a very reliable and comfortable vehicle, but it’s accumulated 90k mi and now is the time to move it on.

Thanks for asking.

Starting to look at other options- Loaded Frontier @ 43k compared to 36k Lariat/Eco/Lux- When is the rattler option going to be fully revealed ? :)
