8-yr 150k miles. On further examination, HVB is the only hybrid component Ford will not cover through an ESP.
I guess you can you get an ESP longer than that for time, mileage too?
I think I got 10 yr 100k.

I'm sure that if Ford included hybrid components covered under their normal hybrid warranty in their extended warranty info - people would be up in arms about being charged extra for something already covered.

I don't know about the ecoboost version in the Mav, but the 3.5l ecoboost in the Transit(not Connect) is well-known to have failures and maintenance problems, mainly due to the heat generated.
There are no such issues with the 2.0, which has been very solid since the third generation released in 2020. Only the second generation (2015-2019) suffered from reliability issues. '22-'24 are third generation and '25+ are fourth.

There's a lot of difference in complexity between a twin-turbo V6 and a single turbo I4. Don't get them confused just because they both carry the name "Ecoboost".

One thing to keep in mind too is that turbos aren't as unreliable as they were decades ago. It figuratively seemed everyone with a turbo ended up replacing them. But earlier models in cars at the time, and the cars tended to be performance oriented vehicles.

My car is BOTH a turbo and a hybrid :) But for that one I wanted more performance. I was looking for good enough for my truck, and it suffices.

I'm amazed at all the time spent trying to discredit EB vs Hybrid, Hybrid vs EB by the owners on this site. I have seen no evidence that one is considerably more reliable than the other. They both have their advantages and disadvantages, and they are relatively minor in comparison. This has been covered over and over and over again.

They're both great vehicles. Buy the one that makes you happy and enjoy it.

So your battery is already covered under the 8yr/100k warranty.

Totally understand for the price of the ESP why Ford would not further cover the HVB beyond 100k

Regardless of the battery replacement, if you're buying a second car mainly for the purpose to save money...you're going about it the wrong way. Some back-of-the-napkin math (12000 miles a year, $3 a gallon for gas, 50/50 city/hwy driving) shows that you'll save $500 a year on gas with a hybrid FWD versus an EB AWD.

If you bought a new hybrid FWD Maverick with no options for $30k OTD, it'll take 60 years to break even on the price of the car alone.
Nonsense. Get your money back from your crack dealers.

Ecoboost, 16 cents a mile at $4 gas.

Hybrid 9 cents a mile at $4 gas.

Hybrid costs only $1000 more to get.
7 cents per mile savings.

Break Even point is driving 14,286 miles.
You're saving money after that no matter who you are. Some people (me) break even in year one.

I already own a ford maverick. fx4 gasoline was thinking of also buying a hybrid, I was wondering if it really saves you money by the time
you have to replace the hybrid battery at around
100;000 miles
hss anyone done the math on it

I'm averaging upper 40s mpg. With gas what it is, long term the battery cost by 200k will be negligible. Don't worry about the battery, just compare the two different vehicles.

I don't drive the Maverick that much in the summer (ride the bike) so my hybrid, at a little under 50mpg is the gas hog.
But. I bought my Maverick when it was cheaper so there's that.
I'd buy one again in a heartbeat.

My ecoboost gets 32-34 mpgs regularly -
Each case is individual and depends on the terrain and numbers of stops -and how you use the go pedal - so there is that math too :)
Cheers

The battery warranty is 8 years. The expectation is the batteries will last about 14 years. So, forget the miles. It will be more of a time issue. Also, temperature extremes will affect battery life. So, keep it garaged if you can.

True story right there. If you don't take care of what you own it will never take care of you. Said to me by my Dad when I got my first bike. (y)

I have 10K on my '23 and on my third oil change and one change on tranny, PTU and RDU. Why? Because I can and oil is still cheap.

Likely a robot answer that is as accurate as its flawed data source.
On a more serious impact note, the FAA is "upgrading" its air traffic control system to use AI.
SKYNET will soon be in complete control.

Where did you pull the 14 years from?

If you need to save $41.66 a month on fuel you’d be better off saving up more money and putting more down therefore financing less.
Much easier to save $41.66 a month in interest I would think.
Another way to look at it is you save $500 a year over a five year loan,
The hybrid saved you $2,500 over five years.
With the current cost of fuel it’s more like
$4,500 over five years, about $75 a month.

Still no hybrid owner should worry about the battery failing ever.
I burn about a half a tank a week normally for a cost of about $30 in my Ecoboost at today’s fuel prices.
I’m good.
