Interesting that they recommended Techron.Back in the day when BMW made the 318 they had problems with carbon, vehicles had rough idle and running rough with AC on or loss of power going up hills those brilliant German engineers told us to tell customers to add a bottle of techron at fill up, that went over real good, sorry your car is not going to run good unless you use additives in fuel or dont use your AC or go up steep hills.
That's what I've used for decades and it seems to work well (quickly eliminates rough idle) but I'm not aware of any serious, objective testing of additives. So when I hear that BMW engineers recommend it, that's helpful.
I notice that in #105, Bill posted that, "Kia suggests Techron fuel system cleaner in their turbos." Another solid endorsement.
