Otherwise, we “surely” would have upset him by now :teehee:

I do think you will have a problem "returning" the truck. But you may have a possible Lemon Law situation with the infotainment if it is truly broken and cannot be fixed.
As the guy was a one and done, I doubt he ever read this thread after his vent.

What may be of continuing interest, is that Lemon Laws vary by state, and most (all?) have a significant impact component.

To get a car to qualify for a return must usually be something that affects your ability to use the vehicle. Having a navigation screen go blank seems highly unlikely to qualify, even if the dealer has problems immediately correcting the issue.
.
Not watching where you are going and driving into an oncoming lane is a driver failure, not a vehicle problem.

We have 5 pages of replies and opinions. The OP "Mass" has not been back onsite since they posted.
I think this may be a situation of one and done drive by posting.🧐

I'd like to know if they got their Silverado back.🤷‍♂️
Makes perfect sense. Ask for feedback, but then either stop reading or just read in silence.

Oh well, that was Friday, so it's still somewhat early. I think he will have more gripes.

Except that nav screen going black also means your HVAC goes black, and that is a significant usability concern.

Failed HVAC absolutely qualifies under lemon law.

OK, I always thought so as well. But a former coworker told me that he bought his Jeep Compass from a dealer that was previously returned via the Lemon Law, in Wisconsin I believe. It has a salvage title, or something like that.

He said the reason it was returned as a LEMON was a simple "squeak or grinding noise" from the brakes that would only occur at low speeds and with the wheel turned fully, like when parking. He bought it and has put a lot more miles on it and says it almost never happens, and when it does, it's no big deal. I also wonder how the dealer could re-sell it to him with the same issue still existing, because it was still never fixed.

But you could make an argument that the screen going blank is a serious problem. The screen is more than just "infotainment" of course. It controls many critical functions, right? I would bet good money that it would qualify if it truly cannot be fixed. But that assumes that used error is not the real issue.

A quick read of the AZ Lemon Law definitely opens the possibilities. 2 year 24k miles with no cool off period. So it may work out for the Maverick. Maybe not so much on finding his old truck, but a quick search also shows plenty of Silverado, even 2019s, for sale all over AZ.

It might, but all he reported was a NAV screen issue that was corrected by a reset.

If a reset resolves the issue, it may be inconvenient, but I disagree that would be cause for a return.
Who knows what the guy was doing. It could have been a phone issue.

In any case, for ANY lemon law return, the dealer has opportunities (plural) to resolve the issue, and a new owner having a hissy fit doesn't mean they can return the vehicle.

Or he is negotiating with dealer. (How much trade in can he get on an F250 super deluxe magnifico Titanium?).

We are going to return our 2026 XLT Maverick to Ford. The infotainment amongst other things are unfortunately god awful!
Half to time the infotainment screen crashes and goes blank, often at a critical time when we need sat nav! Ford says this is normal and to switch off the engine and open the door.
You look at the infotainment screen for a split second, and due to the too quick steering you are on the oncoming traffic lane.
When the infotainment is working the screens are impossible to navigate, and I’m very tech savvy!
When you do press a screen button you inadvertently hit the heated sears or another wrong screen button and this is on a perfectly flat road.
It’s often impossible to get to the nav screen half the time or the Spotify screen or any other screen.
Did I mention the steering is too fast, I have constantly correct it on a straight road,
My wife is in agreement to all this and doesn’t hardly touch the infotainment screen, she navigates from her phone.et Maverick mileage
I no loner have YouTube
How the hell does ford release this crap, and make the customer do all the bug testing. I would have been fired if I released crap like this!
I would welcome your feedback, thank you
go ahead and buy the Colorado you have been lusting for,my deceased brother had this same "never satisfied syndrome" with vehicles and learn to temper your expectations( did your wife secretly want an Xc70 Volvo( never keep a vehicle you hate if you cant make it yours, bet the siverobo didn't get Maverick mileage above all remember you are dealing with a Ford.

The best days for owning my Mav were picking it up from the dealership and driving it 750 miles home getting 30.4 mpg next best day was dumping it with 1,500 miles after countless low battery modes and the poor front door lock design easily locking myself out
its so easily done I keep the drivers window down enough to get my hand in there, that door lock placement sucks big time if you have "Amish" fingers.

Tough to hear issues with your Maverick. Your former ride may be gone. One thing I learn is if dealer says need prepnew vehicle, or wait financing, ask you to leave old vehicle, offer another to leave, come back later. They got you. Come back and an oops in financing, like raise interest rate. And your old ride gone. Now you in catch 22 situation. Hoodwinked. Never leave old ride with them overnite till final deal done.

The door lock is a "you" problem and there is no way I way get rid of a vehicle for a $130 battery. I also had the deep sleep issues but a new AGM battery solved the issue.
