Hard to latch rear seat back SSM from Ford

If you have a hard to latch rear seat back, Ford has issued the dealers a SSM. Mine was a tad hard, even closing/pushing in the latch area to shut. I changed mine. It does latch a tad easier. When latching rear seat back, you still need to shut/press in the latch’s area of the seat. Here is the part number, and you can see a slight difference in the “guts” of the latch. Updated latch on left.
The dealer can pull up the SSM with your vin#. It applies for 2022-2024 Maverick and Ranger.

Nothing a simple "Super Fly Jimmy Snuka" or "Sargent Slaughter" power move couldn't solve....

I added washers behind the latch.

Shut it from the passenger side, not the driver's side. Works for me.

Yea it works better from that side but not as it should. I am a perfectly capable big strong guy so no issues there.

When I picked up my truck the sales guy and I were going through all the features. I lifted up the seat and it would not stay latched. The sales guy says give it a good hard slam. Yea that worked, but again, not as it should so if there is a fix I want to look into it.

I've had no issues with my rear seat back latching and seeing I recently installed a sub under the rear seat and my amp on the back wall I've been raising and lowering the rear seat back frequently.

I've only had my 2024 Lariat for a couple weeks and hadn't even tried swinging the seat forward and then latching it back till today. Glad I found this thread, as I couldn't make it latch. Read the thread: "...give it a good hard slam!" Really? Well...ok. *thunk* "Hey, it really did work. Not as I expected in a new truck, but a-ok."
