To my knowledge Ford hasn’t changed them in newer builds. Seen reports of the issue on both versions, but seem to be more post with the hybrid and lifted trucks, just my understanding

Seems like the issue is few and far between. Also the CVs will actually fail hundreds if not thousands of miles after they start leaking.

Don't hold your breath for a recall. IMHO, CV axles would not be a candidate for that since it's not an overt safety issue. Best you can do would likely be a warranty claim. At least CV axle replacement is simple and not likely to create collateral damage like having the engine grenade. When Chinese axles show up on RockAuto, you would have cheaper options too. They might be better than OEM...
