Outliers, there are always outliers in everything in life. Unavoidable. Boggles my mind Ford would say your experience is normal. It is not normal and it is also not normal to expect people to just deal with something that is not working properly. I would love to install outlets to the Ford rep that told you that that only work half the time and tell him that is normal. Sorry the outlet to your TV went dead while watching the ball game you've been looking forward to, but it normal. Deal with it.

As for steering, things must have changed since 2023 because mine feels great at all speeds, but then again maybe it makes a difference what vehicle one comes from. Me, a 2005 Ranger that rode and drove like a lumber wagon, but I loved it.

I would not accept that BS black screen answer. I find it hard to believe FoYrd or your dealer would say a NAV screen going blank as you’re driving along is “normal.”

I'd imagine NHTSA wouldn't call it "normal" either.

Each time I read the original post I can’t stop thinking about operator error in virtually every concern..

The OP is coming from a 2019 Silverado, probably with ~150k miles,. How do you think that handles? 27 turns lock to lock? (I’m kidding a little)

OP stated he keeps hitting the heated seat switch and other screens when going for the Info screen. I’m on my 3rd Maverick and have done that exactly zero times, I don’t recall even coming close,

OP states he looks at the Info screen and drifts into oncoming traffic, again, exactly zero times in my experience. He’s unknowingly moving the steering wheel.

Info screen goes black. I wonder what he’s touched accidentally or unknowingly.

The steering on my ‘26 seems no different than my ‘22 or ‘23. All XLT FWDs presumably like the OPs

The OP states the steering is too fast causing constant correction. Mis-alignment, worn suspension, etc. causes constant correction, quick steering does not cause correction issues (Unless he’s unknowingly moving the steering wheel as he described when he looks at the Info screen)

OP is returning his truck to Ford? I suspect he means the Dealership.

This is pure & simple buyers remorse. The guys down at the diner are probably harassing him and saying it's not a "real" truck, so he wants to try and get his full-size back.

I don’t see the deal being unwound.

Have you checked the air pressure in the tires? I was not happy with the way my 24 drove on the 750-mile drive home. It was all over the road. Assumed it was just me used to driving a 24-year-old K3500.Got home and got the air pressure gauge out. 47 to 48 psi in all four tires! Guessing that got overlooked on PDI. Drove much better after that. 50,000 miles on it now, still like it. But it still has some quirks that drive me nuts!

My 2022 XL A51 Eco, has be GREAT for 39 months now...

He is Now driving a vehicle, that is HALF the size of his previous one...

I lost my power steering, and all the warning lights and I mean ALL came on at 1000 miles on my 25 lariat it was upsetting, I wanted my 22 XLT FX4 with 15k on the clock back that I sold to CarMax, that was a great truck. Dealer did a software upload, gave me a loaner and I was back on the road, have 5k now and THIS is a great truck with every option you can think of for 10k less than the average new car price 50k. Yes, it took a few weeks to get used to the new 13'' screen for a old guy that types with two fingers and not too savvy, almost a year now am still finding things in sync 4 I didn't know where there.
Relax take a deep breath let the dealer look at it, talk to the service manager calmly, he should have someone drive the vehicle with you and explain the operation and address any issues.

In my old age, one factor here bothers me (just one?). If you own a vehicle and it treats you well and never breaks down and you love it soo much, why are people programmed to get rid of it???
