I believe they held back for a simpler reason. Several other more expensive 2022 vehicles still used sync3 . I believe Ford didn't want to give their least expensive vehicle the upgraded system before they installed it on their more expensive vehicles. That's pretty much the consensus of most of the members. It's as though the engineers/designers didn't check the stock and so manufacturing slapped in whatever they had in order to get these trucks out the factory door.
That makes sense. I suppose we'll never know what really went on in that discussion room. Bottom line, I'm extremely happy with the truck, its capabilities, and performance.I believe they held back for a simpler reason. Several other more expensive 2022 vehicles still used sync3 . I believe Ford didn't want to give their least expensive vehicle the upgraded system before they installed it on their more expensive vehicles.
That's all that matters.I have my old 8 inch and old APIM in a box. If something happens and the system has to have a restore having the old system will be the only way to get Ford Pass App back. Just something to consider for anyone upgrading. However the 12 inch upgrade and upgrade to Sync 4 has been worth every penny spent I am very happy with this upgrade.
I never noticed the 8" screen and don't notice the 13.2" screen when driving unless I want to look at it for information.I hate that you cant turn off the screen on 25+ Maverick. "Calm Mode" still keeps the screen lit-up and shows the clock. I'd love to simply turn it off and maintain the bottom HVAC controls. The entire instrument cluster display and new larger screen are not the best the more time I spend with the Maverick.
I seem to remember that there was talk of whether or not Ford could obtain enough larger screens for use because of chip/screen manufacturing because of post pandemic manufacturing. That's pretty much the consensus of most of the members. It's as though the engineers/designers didn't check the stock and so manufacturing slapped in whatever they had in order to get these trucks out the factory door.
That thing sits up way to high. Looks like you placed a laptop onto the dash. Makes it look ugly and bulky. The big screen on the 2025 and 2026 model is lower to the dash. I saw other vehicles with a big display and said they look ugly too. I had a 2019 Kia Niro and that screen was big but it was placed into the dash. If I want a bigger screen I will go with a newer year Maverick.Hey everyone,
Just wanted to share a quick review of something I’ve been excited about; I upgraded my 2022 Maverick to the 12" SYNC 4 touchscreen display system from @infotainment (Infotainment.com) and figured I’d post my experience for anyone on the fence about doing the same.
Honestly, the upgrade made a way bigger difference than I expected.
The first thing you notice is obviously the screen size. Going from the stock display to the 12" screen completely changes the feel of the interior. Everything looks sharper, brighter, and a lot more modern. Android Auto takes up more space, making the menus easier to use, and the whole system just feels faster and smoother overall.
After a few days with it, it really does feel like this is how the Maverick should’ve come from the factory.
I made a video showing the screen in action and a quick follow-along of my install. It’s not meant to be a full tutorial, more just to show what the upgrade looks like in real life and how straightforward the process was on my end. If you have questions I don't mind offering my insights.
My video(Google drive since it is to large for the Forum): Google Drive Infotainment.com 12" SYNC 4
But if you’re planning on doing the install yourself, I definitely recommend following Infotainment.com’s official install video since they walk through everything step by step way better than I could:
And here’s the exact kit I installed:

I’m still spending more time with it, so I’ll post updates if anything changes long-term. But at this point I’d easily recommend it to anyone who’s been wishing the Maverick had a bigger, more premium infotainment setup.

No way to high above the dash.Yea lol; What I did notice is that this screen in the 2025 is longer then the infotainment.com.screen which I see less product cause you need to reach a lot more for screen stuff. I think the 2025 should have taken this screen not the long screen style.
Says up to 2021 Maverick. Mavericks are from 22-24 before the screen size increase.Anyone know anything about this one:

I'm guessing it might work for 6 months then completely fail as soon as a hot summer comes.
Could also be from having an idea how fast technology was advancing, or what was in the pipeline, and making sure there was room for it.It's as though the engineers/designers didn't check the stock and so manufacturing slapped in whatever they had in order to get these trucks out the factory door.
I'm pretty sure that trip-folding a maverick would do really bad things to its unibody construction . . .Save your money for a Samsung Z Fold 7 or the new tri-fold phone.
I am 6 ft tall and this is what I see from my eyes for a view. I can still see my entire dash with zero windshield blockage. Definitely not too tall.No way to high above the dash.
