Exactly, Sunday before MLK b-day it was 16 degrees, my EV started just fine. Drove it because it has a great heating system and heated seats. It’s my go to winter vehicle.

For sure, the only downside to EV's in the cold is significant range loss.

My seat of the pants gut feeling is that if it ever got too cold for an EV to operate, it would CERTAINLY be too cold for a little 12v lead-acid battery to even Start a cold internal combustion engine. Having said that, I suspect in the aforementioned scenario where the neighbor’s EV wouldn’t start on the extremely cold morning , the person blamed the high voltage battery . But the most likely culprit was that the 12v battery took a dump. And the poor EV battery was blamed

This truck is quite enjoyable and a vehicle I look forward to driving. Sure, it has its share of idiosyncrasies but overall, nothing which would leave a sour taste in my mouth.

I'm on my second Maverick, 2025 Ecoboost; Fun to drive and best for my needs. Being retired and still active, the safety features are worthwhile.

Personally, if it's too cold for an EV to operate, it's too cold for me to operate. I spent Thanksgiving in upper NW Wisconsin and it got below zero with a foot of snow. That was pushing it. I'd like to move south where it's warm, maybe Missouri.

Personally, if it's too cold for an EV to operate, it's too cold for me to operate. I spent Thanksgiving in upper NW Wisconsin and it got below zero with a foot of snow. That was pushing it. I'd like to move south where it's warm, maybe Missouri.

I agree 100% except for your choice of where you consider not very cold. I live in Tallahassee Florida about 10 miles south of the Georgia border. We got our first significant accumulation of snow / ice in over 20 years. Temperatures got in the teens. Literally everyone who would not have to work on a major holiday, either was given or decided to take the day off. They put sand on the bridges in anticipation of the hard freeze that was expected to come with the precipitation. They put sand on the major highways right after the snow/sleet mixture. I had to go to work one day after the Frozen mess. And I hit little patches of ice that scared me half to death. Anyway, my motto is if it gets too cold and snows or ices up more than once a decade for all season tires to suffice, it is too cold for me to live there

I moved to Ft Lauderdale for a year and a half. Got there in December and went to the beach first and ran into the water. I noticed i was the only one in the water and I found out they don't like to go in till it's over 80 or 90 degrees. I'm happy if it's over 60 degrees.

"Above" and "below" should never be part of a temperature!

we get a couple of inches of snow every 15 years or so here. But we're a couple of years overdue!

I am also on my 2nd Maverick, 25 EB. I love the 360 camera, bigger screen and the back-up assist! I am also retired and love to drive my Maverick in my favorite color, green!!

I go back and fourth on this a lot. When I was looking at buying the Maverick the touch screen climate controls were a non-starter for me. This left me looking for any MY24s still on the market.

I wanted the hybrid because of the MPG but I wanted the EcoBoost for the tow package. I found a brand new 24 hybrid XLT and a brand new 24 EB XLT w/ tow package. The only difference between the two was the hybrid was silver and the EB was azure gray. One was in Portland and the other was in Boise, both about the same distance from me. I liked the silver color (hybrid) more but the dealer selling the EB knocked 3k off the price because they were trying to clear the last MY24 trucks off their lot.

Ultimately I wound up with the 2024 EcoBoost XLT w/ tow package. I love it but I do often find myself thinking I should've gone with the hybrid. But I bet if I had the hybrid I'd be making this same post saying I wish I had gone with the EcoBoost. All I know for sure is that if I buy another Mav, it'll be the AWD hybrid with the tow package - the best of both worlds!

The 25 was a big update to the hybrid. I traded a 22 hybrid in for a 25. Maybe upgrade when it gets its first redesign in a few years.

I'd defintely buy again, but would go with a Lariat with 4k and adaptive cruise.
