I have a couple of beefs with ACC. First, I dislike the sudden and rapid slowdown if a vehicle enters the zone. It's not gradual as it is if I were braking and it feels like I have no control. Secondly, what about the cars behind me? Do my brake lights come on, or am I suddenly throwing a big slowdown surprise with no warning?
ACC turns on the brake lights if it's deceleration exceeds 0.1g. that's the design spec and what it's supposed to do, at least.

Thank you for clarifying! I've been having this concern for the better part of a year and if my memory serves me correctly, you're the first to have an answer. Thank you!

True on the Prices the 2023 BS BB I had with the 1.5 EB 3 cylinder, the MSRP was $33,135.00 the 2025 XLT AWD Maverick I have now with the 2.0 EB the MSRP was $31,510.00. I don't really care about the ACC but I did like that the BS BB had Bliss. But I'll take the 2.0 EB any day over ACC or Bliss .
I just think it is intentional by Ford to separate the two vehicles further, but Ford has always reserved features for upper trims in the trucks.

Just look at Ranger and F-150....if you want 4A you are shelling out.

My 2025 XLT has the Lane Centering assist which I don't like and shut off,but doesn't have ACC.
Lane Keeping System (part of cp360 1.0) is not the same as Lane Centering which is a feature of ACC (can only be activated when your ACC is set. Lane Centering will help keep you in the Center of the lane lane keeping which can be used with our without the cruise control can Alert you or assist in trying to help you not cross over the line.

Just thought you should know the difference. XLT does not get Lane Centering but can get Lane Keeping with the $795 Co-Pilot360 1.0 package along with BLIS, CTA, and Rear Parking Sensors.

Ford's lane centering works great (much smoother and more accurate than the Toyotas we've had, but ACC comes in base models with those at least).
The LKA is not the same thing and as noted, you need ACC to get it.

I don't mind living without ACC, I had a Rivian truck for a while and I really just preferred driving the "old school way", on long trips specifically, despite it having a pretty sophisticated system.

I can't believe they took out the folding armrest... but put back the option for the sliding window? weird man....
Sometimes their decisions are baffling. A rear arm rest is a nice feature for rear sear passengers and also adds 2 additional cup holders.

I’m sure they save a few bucks but those dollars make a difference to me.

They didn't offer the rear sliding window as an option for XL's or XLT in 2025 (wish they would have offered that as an add on as well). EDIT: I believe it was only offered as an add-on for Lariat and Lobo trims.
there was no charge on my wife's 2025 lariat for the rear power window; it was part of the trim.

One last, honest question - can you turn on lane centering but keep ACC disabled? Or is it truly you have both enabled or neither enabled?
lane centering, as opposed to mere assist, as @pointed out above, can only engage with ACC enabled. It then comes and goes with the quality of lane markings.

I know you’re at least half joking but Lariat owners can install CommaAI and get blue cruise for all intents and purposes.
Is it actually available for maverick? a quick search suggests 2023 and earlier, which aligns with what I do know about the f-150, whose bus got encrypted in 2024.

I don't have it, but pondered it when it was on sale recently. I won't do more than ponder though until they can mount it somewhere besides below the mirror. The RVM already sits so low that I have to duck my head to see past it, and yes it's as far up as I can adjust it.

hmm, it says through 2024. I'd sure be tempted if it could do 2025--but would also make sure it was installed before my wife found out!

[I actually toy with the idea of a low mileage '23 F-150 powerboost instead of a new one, but they seem to be scarcer then hen's teeth in the higher trims that I want {massage seats are an absolute necessity!}]

On My Window Sticker it says Co-Pilot360 Assist PKG whatever that means.I know when driving with it on the Car picture was in the Middle under the Digital Speedometer and the steering wheel would vibrate if you didn't stay in the center and drifted left or right. So i turned it off at the end of the turn signal stalk.

Ford needs to give Maverick a self-dimming rear view mirror option.

First part of the year they used that verbiage to regret to the basic cp360 features. For 2025 they gave every Maverick Lane Departure Assist which basically ping pongs you toward the middle as you get to the edge of the lane.
