Made in the US, bigger than the Maverick, total EV.
For $30k - starting base model obviously.

What in the world must they have left off that model to hope for $30k in 2027?

What could be removed from the XL currently to get it back down to say $20k now?

No this is a marketing ploy by Ford to try and offset the Q2 losses and keep stock price afloat with bullshit news.

Ford lost money hand over fist on their $45k f150 lightning that the prices ballooned quickly into the $70k range and they still lost money.

Now they want me to believe that older less dense battery technology is going to enabled them to produce an AMERICAN manufactured electric truck for $30k and still make a profit?

It’s not going to happen.

Read the fine print (batteries not included)
That I could actually see being done.

Have 3-5 different battery pack options for the drive ranges/towing capacity desired.
Since it's an option - not included in base price.

....and REDUCE the wiring harness by 4,000 feet ?

So ....if a vehicle is 20 feet long , that's 200 wires from bumper to bumper they're going to remove ..... I don't think so ....

No, it will be a mid-size pickup, which means Ranger-sized.
Closer to maverick size according to people who've seen it. Who knows, it's all over the place. Apparently the maverick in terms of actual dimensions isn't super far off the ranger, so my guess is comparable exterior dimensions to the maverick, but interior and bed space comparable to ranger, I know it's a shit show lol.

The only real hint about the design is this, which looks kinda cool just going off the basic proportions.

A patent image from today, not digging this design as much, prefer the design under the tarp.

EV's especially thrive on low drag coefficients. Low drag Cd's will often look similar to each other, ie a Tesla.

It's going to look less "truck like" and more "Tesla like", and may even resemble a cybertruck in some ways.

True, the confusing thing is based on what we can see, it doesn't really look like this thing.

yep - BYOB - bring your own battery
they're just going to be competing against their existing truck line - most are thrilled with their hybrids and the mileage, gas prices have stabilized, there's no 'big need' for a new EV truck regardless of their 'new and improved' technology - for the relatively small number who want they'll buy it but it will be competing with the mav and the ranger unless they intend to dump the Ranger altogether. You'd think they'd go the EV SUV route as a first exhibit of this new big thing.

recent "leaked" info is that a fully electric mid-size (bigger than pre 2005 full size) vehicle with an open space in the back (often called a "pickup") will be available in a couple years, and be named "Ranchero".

I suspect it will be hypermasculinized in various ways to offset the electric drivetrain, because many knuckledraggers are still living in the past and would not consider purchase unless this happened. Like what happened with the Lightning. Kind of like how many companies in the early 1900's stylized their cars to look like horse buggies to appeal to the "horses are best" crowd.
