Personally, I would list it and try to sell it before I did a trade in. You will get more money with a private offer than a trade in. Depending on milage and where you live, you could get close to what you paid for it. If I needed 4k that is where I would start.
True, but depending on the state, you may pay less sales tax on the new purchase if they credit the value of the trade-in.

Well, you have already got the AWD with it being a '25 Lariat. Also with it being a '25 hybrid, you have the upgraded transmission. Not that much more to the 4k pak on a hybrid except the brake controller and the back up assist. The back up assist wasn't even a available on any Maverick last year. You can add a brake controller. Unless you're really towing well upwards of 3k frequently, I would save the money. Just my initial thoughts.

Thinking about trading 2025 hybrid maverick with lariat pkg. for 2025 eco-boost maverick with lariat pkg. + 4k towing pkg.
Need opinions if this is good idea?

It's a good way to spend money. Terrible if you'll never tow anything, required if you want to tow something more the 2000 lbs. EB vs Hybrid is personal choice.
Agree. I ordered the Lariat Hybrid AWD with 4K towing. Gonna love it.!

Carvana or Carmax are both great options. I sold my Chevy 2500 to move into the Mav. It made a couple thousand dollars difference from what the Ford offered me. OToH if the dealer thinks he can flip your 25 Lariat and make a profit, they may give you more.

Window sticker was already gone. Trusted sales person.
"COOTER"
So you bought a used 2025 without a window sticker?
🤔
Something seems a little....strange.
We should all know by now.
By law, every new car sold in the United States must have a window sticker, also known as a Monroney sticker. This sticker is required by the Automobile Information Disclosure Act of 1958, which ensures transparency in the car-buying process.
Even a dealer DEMO should come with a window sticker. Dealers can actually print out window stickers
there's absolutely no excuse for a 2025 to be sold as a new car without a window sticker unless it was actually a previously titled used car.

Way to make that bold decision to buy a vehicle that another 412,848 people also made last year in the US. Of that, only 360,000 or less will actually use it for its actual capabilities. 😆 jk…I think

It appears that you didn't look that close or intentionally left out what's in the 4k Tow package. Like a trans cooler, an upgraded fan a 7 pin wire connector and a conventional spare tire. At least you mentioned the brake controller and the back up assist but nothing to keep the the trans or engine from overheating.

Sorry but that decision is yours and your spouses decision. Just you only live once and whatever vehicle you have should incorporate or be able to accommodate your lifestyle.

For me if you are considering getting a new Maverick you just may also considering getting cloth seats. In doing so hopefully the XLT trim with luxury group, 4k trim
and co-pilot 360, spray in bed liner etc. hopefully it will be less and absorb some of the difference. You would lose the radio upgrade and a few other items so make sure this will still be what you want. I wouldn't buy a vehicle with vinyl, fake leather or leather interior but that's just me. It's either frigid in the winter or hot and sweaty in the summer, I'm just not going to deal with that on a everyday experience.

Anyway best of luck with your decision and whatever vehicle you decide to keep or buy. Being retired wishing the best for you and your wife
